That Was a Snap

Welcome to the Guild Hall. Don’t mind the puddles everywhere. We just returned from a rather interesting quest that took us underwater to rescue a clan of merpeople from a mutant rampaging crab. Rather than arriving by raven, the message was contained within a floating water bubble. I didn’t know how we were going to make it underwater without some kind of breathing apparatus, but luckily my new contacts at the Wizards' Institute of Technocery were able to create a spell for us that would allow us to breathe underwater just like the merpeople.

This card was crafted for the Just Some Lines Anything Goes challenge happening now. Simply create something using any Just Some Lines image and you can win some digis! There’s a freebie provided in case you need a JSL image to play with :)

I started this card by printing out the crab image and masking off his snappy hands and body. Armed with some Dylusions spray ink, I set to work on the background, adding the tentacle type thing from the Dylusions “Further Around the Edge” set. I coloured the tentacles with Distress Markers. Unmasking the ‘lil crabby, I coloured him with Prismacolors. I then decided to give him a little bow using the Lawn Fawn “Love ‘n Breakfast” set. I added some Tea Dye Distress Ink to the bottom to make it sandy, then immediately regretted that decision. Oh well. The punny sentiment I stamped using the Lawn Fawn “Harold’s ABCs” set. Last I cut some seashells using the Create-a-Critter cartridge and adhered them to the side to try and cover up the big blob of ink on the left, earning me +284 disguise exp points.

I stamped the envelope using the same tentacle image to make it match the card.

This snappy creation will scuttle into the following challenges:

We eventually found our way to the merpeople and easily slayed the giant crab. I’m unsure as to why the merpeople were unable to take care of this creature themselves considering they all brandish rather sharp looking tridents. No matter, we were rewarded with gold pieces. As well, we decided to return the crab carcass to the Guild Hall and hold a feast tonight! I sent a message to Olga, one of the house gnomes who works in the kitchens, to bring up lots of butter from the stores - lots and lots of butter Yum!
