Cast Down From Above

Welcome to the Guild Hall. Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I made the journey to Precious Places Castle with a delivery of freshly crafted cards we had just finished. Princess Peachbottom had ordered two dozen cards to distribute to her subjects that she mistakenly refers to as her friends, inviting them to her harvest moon tea party. We were nearing the castle when we suddenly came upon a lone angel. We approached the creature with caution, uncertain if it was a dark angel or one of light. She sat atop a large rock, head hung against her chest allowing her auburn hair to curtain her face. My sister and I exchanged a look, a silent agreement to pass by unnoticed. As we started off, the angel looked up, a feather falling to the ground beside her.

This card was designed for the Creative Card Crew “Things With Wings” challenge that is happening now. This fortnight we are sponsored by Delicious Doodles. Spread your wings and play along to win some delicious digis!

I used a Delicious Doodles image called “Fallen”, colouring it with Distress Markers and my Hydra Brush of +90 wetness. I inked around the edges with Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks, which are pretty much my staple go-to colours when inking around edges. It was still a little plain, so I stamped the corners with the Inkadinkado “Batik Cartouches” (<-- no idea what that means 0_0) set. The background I made with Distress Ink and a feather stamp from the Unity “Tail Feather” set. I stamped the sentiment using my Archival black ink, which I’m fairly certain I would die a crafty death without. The gold whooshes (that’s the technical term) I cut using the Cricut Art Philosophy cartridge.

On the inside I stamped the feather and birds using the Unity “Tail Feather” set again. The sentiment came from the Unity “With Sympathy” set.

I added some more birds to the envelope, and immediately thought it looked weird, earning me +291 regretful exp points. Ah well...too late.

This sympathy card will spread its wings in the following challenges:
Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge: Stamping All-Stars (Archival black ink & Antique Linen and Tea Dye Distress Inks)

“There’s no use continuing on,” she said looking at the Lady Commander and I.
“I’m sorry?” I was confused as to what exactly she meant.
“Precious Places Castle. They’re all dead,” she breathed, hanging her head once more.
“W...what?” I stammered.
“A Murvoc demon attacked them. No one survived. I was too late,” the angel sobbed.
I didn’t realize that Princess Peachbottom had been under angelic protection, but I knew what happened to the angel who failed in their duty.
“Come back with us,” I said reaching my hand to the fallen seraph. “We’ll track the Murvoc demon and kill it together.”
She took my offered hand and we all headed back to the Guild Hall.
