Snowflakes On My Lashes

Salutations traveller. Today as the snow blew in from the north, covering the realm in a sparkling white blanket, the Lady Commander of Copics, Guardian of Glitter and I gathered in the crafting chambers to work on some cards for the Winter Festival which is rapidly approaching. Despite it being only the third day of the eleventh month, we turned up the Christmas music and set to work. Hours later, after the workbench was covered in sparkles, glue and bits of paper we peeked outside the window and were shocked at the amount of snow that had fallen.

I have never pre-ordered a stamp set before, but when I saw Lawn Fawn’s “Yeti, Set, Go” and “Winter in the Park” sets, I knew I had to have them. For this card I used the “Winter in the Park” set. I started by stamping the snowflakes and heat embossing them, my first foray into this particular technique, which earned me +184 exp points. Some of them are a little blobby, but I shall work on leveling up this skill so as not to have these mishaps again.
I stamped out the snow, bench and lamp posts then masked off the snow to colour the background with Distress Ink, being careful around the lamps to leave the white "glow". I stamped the snow blob, cut it out, sparkled it up and glued it to the top of the bench. I then added some sparkles to the top of the snow on the ground. Last, I stamped the sentiment that came from the same set.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using The Greeting Farm’s “Sparkling Season” set.

The enveloped was stamped with the various snowflakes from “Winter in the Park” using Faded Jeans Distress Ink.

This winter scene will chill out in the following challenges:

Although the softly falling snow does paint quite the glittery picturesque scene, it does mean it is now time to break out the heavy winter fur cloaks, snow shovels and dog sleds. *sigh* Time to hunker down for the next six months.
