A Mousey Marriage in the Meadow

Greetings. Thank you for stopping by the Guild Hall. The Guardian of Glitter and I made it back safely from our quest to Icy Land, having spent the last fortnight in its frozen highlands. Though it was exhausting, there is no time to rest as today the Lady Commander of Copics and I are travelling to Marigold Meadow to celebrate the marriage and joining of two mouse clans who reside there. Long time rivals, this wedding will hopefully usher in a new era of peace for the two warring mouse clans.

This card was made for the Creative Card Crew “Animals” challenge that is happening now. Make a project with an animal and come play along with us for your chance to win a prize from our sponsors!

I started this card by colouring the Whiff of Joy “Happy Couple” image using Distress Markers and my Hydrabrush of +50 wetness. I distressed the edges and added a couple of flowers that were used to bound the crinkle ribbon I received from Karen over at Little Scrap Pieces. I never use flowers like that on my cards, but these just matched the colours so perfectly, I had to. This also earned me +80 floral XP points. I die cut the shape using the Art Philosophy cartridge and stamped the sentiment using a Unity stamp. Some heart pearls and old sheet music finished off the front.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn “Sophie’s Sentiments” set. The flowers I added in the corner are from the Unity “Poppy Bundle” itty bitty.

The envelope was also adorned with the poppy bundle using the same pink I distressed the edges of the picture with.

This card will waltz into the following challenges:

The ceremony was beautiful, and it was clear that the bride and groom were truly in love and not just getting married to end the mousey wars. Hopefully the peace in Marigold Meadow would last long after the alcohol stopped flowing.
