A Hearth Full of Rainbow Stones

This evening we were paid an unexpected visit by a rainbow paladin from the west. Slightly annoyed that we had to abruptly end our card duel, my sister and I welcomed the traveller to the Guild Hall; one does not simply turn away a rainbow paladin. She was low on mana and weary from her travels, so the Lady Commander of Copics and I provided her with some tonics and ether potions.

This week the theme at Wicked Wednesday is to CASE one of the DT members. Make an ATC following this theme for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor, The East Wind.

I started my ATC by colouring The East Wind image using Prismacolor pencils. The background I inked using some Distress Ink. I was going to leave it at that, and then decided to turn my ATC into a Hearthstone card, making mana, damage and health values for it. I used the Art Philosophy cartridge for the blood drop, the Artbooking cartridge for the hexagon, the Artiste cartridge for the circle and sword (which was originally a neck tie), and the Birthday Bash cartridge for the numbers.

This ATC will creep into the following challenges:

It would seem our hospitality was not in vain, as the rainbow paladin rewarded us with a vial of valuable crafting dust. It was a shame I didn’t get to finish off my sister in the card duel however. I would have undoubtedly bested her, as I tend to do.

The Joy of Looting

Today the Lady Commander of Copics, Guardian of Glitter and I were exploring the abandoned underground city of the dwarves, looking for treasure and loot...because that’s what adventurers do, when we came across an oddity. Amongst all the rocks and stone archways, there stood a small wooden door. Stuffing a newly acquired gem into my bag-of-holding, I approached the door. Carved into the wood was the word “joy”.

This wine tag was created for The Inked Stamper design team and was based on this inspiration photo.
I cut the paper to 8.5” x 2.75” and scored at 2.5”. I used a 2” circle punch for the hole because it is literally the only circle punch I own, but I think a smaller one would be better - 1.5” would probably be perfect. The snowflake for this was cut using the Lawn Fawn “Stitched Snowflakes” die set and the letters were cut with the Lawn Fawn “Finley’s ABCs” die set. The borders I cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge. The red looked a little blah, so I used a white gel pen to spruce it up a little, earning +50 accent XP points.

This tag will jingle some joy into the following challenges:

“What say you, Guild Master? Should we open it?” the Lady Commander asked.
“We should at least knock,” the Guardian of Glitter said, running her fingers over the carved word.
I knocked twice rapidly. There was no response. Shrugging my shoulders I tried the door handle. Locked. I extracted my lock picking kit from my satchel and Nikki shot me a look.
“What?! There could be loot in here!” I exclaimed.
A rogue at heart, I wasn’t about to let possible loot slip away, and proceeded to work on the lock.

Masquerade Full of Daggers

Tonight the Lady Commander of Copics and I attended a formal masquerade at the Earl of Adhesives grand villa. This annual event was held to mark the beginning of our final thirty-one days in the sun cycle. The costumes were a brilliant sight to behold, but unfortunately with the added anonymity, the chance for danger was high. As such, I had designed my gown to conceal two large daggers I wore on my thighs.

This card was created for the Creative Card Crew “Birthday with a Sentiment” challenge that is happening now. Make a project that fits this theme for a chance to win a prize from our sponsors, Marianne Design and Delicious Doodles!
donkerblauw.jpg  DD-Header.jpg

I started this card by colouring in the Delicious Doodles “Venetian Beauty” image using Prismacolor Pencils, adding some gems as accents. I then stamped and heat embossed the “celebrate” sentiment, which is a Unity stamp. The bottom sentiment, from the My Creative Time “Wow! So Many Candles” set, was stamped onto a shape cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge.
Last I decided to earn a bonus +80 sparkle XP points and used my Wink of Stella pen on the mask from some extra bling. It was however extremely difficult to photograph this glittery goodness.

The inside I stamped with a Close to My Heart sentiment. The edges were stamped using the Crafty Secrets “Glamour Girls” set.

The envelope was stamped with a couple other images from the “Glamour Girls” set.

This card will hide in the following challenges:

As it turns out, there was no need for my daggers of superb stabbing, the masquerade going off without a hitch. If only all the events we attended could be this problem free.

Two Forgotten Souls

Today the Guardian of Glitter and I were questing in the Ruins of Forgotten Souls, barely holding our own, when we were granted a brief respite from the fray. I uncapped a healing tonic and downed the entire thing, carefully storing the empty bottle back in my satchel. Behind us, we heard branches snapping causing a flock of birds to fly above the forest canopy. I quickly unsheathed my sword, preparing for another onslaught of flesh moulders. To our surprise a lost looking fellow emerged from the thick foliage.
“Have you seen my sister?” he blurted, clearly out of breath.
I looked curiously at his odd hat and goggles he wore on his head. “You are the first human we have encountered,” I replied.
“Perhaps we can offer you assistance in locating your missing kin,” the Guardian of Glitter offered. “It is not safe here.”
“We got split up. She has pigtails and is carrying a lunch box,” the lad said, relieved that we were going to help him. "I think our parents forgot us somewhere near here."
“We’ve no time to waste! Those flesh moulders show no mercy,” I said shouldering my bag of holding.

It’s time once again for more calendar pages from my The Octopode Factory themed desk calendar. You can see January - March,  April , and May - July already. For August I started by stamping and colouring The Octopode Factory “Steampunk Nipper Winston” image and colouring him with Prismacolor pencils. The background was coloured using Distress Inks. I masked off an area for the setting sun and coloured it last. The birds I stamped using the Unity “Tail Feather” set.

For September I used The Octopode Factory “Back to School Girl” image, colouring her with Prismacolor pencils as well.

The leaves were cut out using the Art Philosophy cartridge and then covered with glue and gold glitter, earning me +111 sparkly alliteration XP points.

This calendar page will fall into the following challenges:

After about thirty minutes of searching we came upon the missing girl locked in combat with a rotting barghest. I was about to throw an energy bolt at the half dead wolf when the girl smashed her heavy lunchbox on the barghest’s head, knocking it senseless. Pulling a small dagger from her belt, she stabbed the stunned creature, finishing it off.
“It appears our assistance is not needed,” I said raising an eyebrow at the Guardian of Glitter.
“Tough kid,” she muttered.
“SISTER!” the chap called, rushing towards the girl.
“Oh. Hello, brother. Where have you been? None of these puppies want to play nice,” she said in a dreamy voice.
I glanced at Nikki. Clearly this lass wasn’t right in the head.
“Follow us. We will lead you out of the ruins and to safety,” I offered.
Seems we now had a new quest protecting these two wayward travellers. There had better be a reward in this.

Season of Strategy

Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I were invited to dinner in Hollyston. It turned out to be more like a business meeting with their leader, Hollinda. Over four courses and some lovely holly berry tea (Angela had water as she found the tea had too high a berry level) we discussed strategies on how to keep the village safe this coming holiday season. Every year they were inevitably attacked, the enemies after their precious holly. As I passed Hollinda the salt, we began to lay down the groundwork for magical defences the Lady Commander and I could erect.

I started this card by cutting the base out using the Art Philosophy cartridge. I stamped the salt and pepper using the Unity “What’s Shakin’” itty bitty. I added some faces using a Lawn Fawn set and a santa hat using the Lawn Fawn “Hat’s Off To You” set. I coloured everything using Prismacolor pencils and cut them out. The holly I cut using the Stretch Your Imagination cartridge. I had to explain the pun on this card to a few people *sigh*. The salt and pepper are seasons and they’re greeting each other. Lol. Regardless, I earned +50 punny XP points.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using the There She Goes “‘Tis the Season” set.

The envelope was stamped with the Dylusions “Christmas Borders” set and quickly coloured with Distress Markers.

This card will season the following challenges:

Although our plan was far from perfect, it would at least help the small village protect itself and the valuable holly until the Crafters Guild could come and assist in the battle. Also, I’ll never say no to a free dinner...so...all in all...time well spent.

The Raiding Duo

Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I embarked on the annual Guildy Raid. Unfortunately the Guardian of Glitter was unable to join us as her powerful healing magic was needed in a neighbouring village. Guild Apprentice Lindsay was also tied up in an unfinished quest, so it was just the two of us this year. The dungeon was harder to explore being only a duo as opposed to our usual foursome, the silver topped creatures fiercer than ever. Somehow we managed to prevail, though with not as much loot as previous raids. As we left the dungeon, we decided to grab a soothing hot chocolate as the weather was still abnormally cold.

I started this card by stamping The Greeting Farm’s “Beanie Ian” image and colouring him using Distress Markers and my Hydrabrush of +30 wetness (it leveled up after my previous crafty quest). I then cut the card base out using the Art Philosophy cartridge. The “snowflake border” (<--that’s in quotation marks, because I don’t really think they look much like snowflakes) was cut using the Artiste cartridge (one of the spoils from the raid). I stamped the sentiment using a Unity stamp. I was going to leave it like that, but thought it seemed a little plain, so I stamped the mug, steam and spoon using the Lawn Fawn “Love You a Latte” set. I coloured them using Distress Markers and diecut them out with the coordinating Lawn Cuts set.

On the inside I once again using the “Love You a Latte” set for everything. The images were water coloured with Distress markers and diecut out. This time I decided to add a little smiley face to the mug for some +80 bonus cuteness XP.

The envelope I stamped using the Close To My Heart “Snowflakes” set keeping the colours scheme the same as the card so it was all matchy-matchy.

This card will warm up the following challenges:

Sipping our sweet scalding beverages in the cafe, we sifted through our spoils, thinking of all the crafting quests we would be able to complete with them. The dungeon doors have closed for another year when we would once again set out on the raid, hopefully with a full complement of the Crafters Guild this time.

Double Trouble

Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I were returning to the Guild Hall after a successful morning questing in the Sequin Caves when we came upon a strange duo. The pair of girls were standing in the center of the road, their heads cocked to the side, staring at us ominously. Beside me, my direwolf Lycan growled, his hair bristling.
“Hail, mi’ ladies!” I called out. “Have you lost your way?” We were far from any town and the colourfully garbed girls seemed quite out of place on the dusty, barren road upon which we stood.
The two little ones just blinked at us, turning their heads to the other side.
“Well this is weird,” my sister whispered to me. “What should we do?”

I started this card by cutting the card base out using the Art Philosophy cartridge. I then stamped the image using the There She Goes “Amalia & Laylah” set by Megan Suarez and coloured it using Prismacolor pencils, leaving it unblended for a more sketchy look. I took the flowers that were left over from cutting the card base and sprayed them with different colours of Dylusions spray ink and added a little pearl in the center of each. I stamped the right side with a border stamp from the Dylusions “Further Around the Edge” set and the sentiment was stamped with a Unity stamp.

On the inside I used a yellow panel so you could see the colour through the holes of the flowers. The sentiment I stamped using the There She Goes “Poppy” set and a random Unity stamp.

The envelope I made using some patterned paper and was preeeeetty impressed with myself that I managed to get the word “May” on the front where you could actually see it. This earned me +284 folding XP points and allowed me to level up!

This card will bloom in the following challenges:

As the Lady Commander and I stood, contemplating the situation, the girls suddenly opened their mouths wide and a deafening shriek sounded throughout the vale, followed by cackling laughter. Then in a flash of white light, the two mysteriously disappeared. What trouble would this encounter bring in the future?

A Doily For Every Surface

Thanks for stopping by the Guild Hall. Preparations are in full swing here, in anticipation of the arrival of our lady mother, traveling from Castle Cambric to celebrate Mother’s Day. The house gnomes tend to get uneasy when our mother visits as she has quite a commanding presence. One of the house gnomes, Myrtle, had decided to make an extreme amount of doilies to set on all the side tables around the Guild Hall. I’m not sure what possessed her to do such a thing, but I left her to it, not wanting to spoil her pleasure by telling her our mother was not fond of doilies.

I started this card by cutting the base out using patterned paper and the Art Philosophy cartridge. The letters for "mom" were cut using the Birthday Bash cartridge. I stamped the lady, using the Unity “Queen of the Universe” itty bitty, on the inside of the card so you could see her through the little wi. The sentiment was also stamped using that same set.

On the inside above the lady I stamped the “thanks” using the There She Goes "Cinnamon" set and the rest of the sentiment with a Unity stamp (not sure where it came from as it was in a grab bag I won). This earned me +184 mysterious XP points. I don't know what stat to apply them to as there are a mystery though...

On the envelope I stamped the corners with the Inkadinkado “Decorative Corners” set as I thought it sorta tied in with the flower doilies on the paper.

This card will stand tall in the following challenges:

In the end Myrtle had made 27 doilies. I dutifully placed them around the Guild Hall as she watched with pride, sure that these frilly clumps would impress my lady mother. I suppose I could always try and donate them somewhere after this weekend….who would want 27 doilies though? Most people don’t even want one...
