A Cheap Spring Mascot

With the Spring Festival drawing nigh, preparations are in full swing at the Guild Hall. The house gnomes have been busy decorating eggs with the help of our little visitor and some colour spells here and there. I was in the crafting chambers trying to finish off some last minute crafty quests when I heard a shriek. I rushed to the kitchens and was surprised to see that one of the eggs Olga was in the middle of decorating had hatched, bearing a chick!

This simple Easter card was made by cutting out the image using the Simply Charmed cartridge. I inked around the edges of the chick, earning myself +90 shady XP points.

This card will crack open in the following challenges:

“Cheep?” the chick peeped, looking around in confusion. I found an old crate, lined it with linens then carefully placed the bird inside. The yellow ball of fluff wandered around, checking out its new digs, before snuggling against the cozy sheet. I suppose we’ve found the Guild Hall mascot for the Spring Festival.

Ancient Secret Recipes

We had got another lead on the schema we were searching for that would allow us to make the legendary adhesive, so the Lady Commander of Copics and I set out to the Shabby Shutter Isle, hoping for better luck than last time. Everything on the island was varying shades of green, making it difficult to navigate and easy to lose our way. Angela began marking trees we passed, using her accessory R26, to help prevent us from getting turned around too much. We finally came to the location we sought and began to dig under the Great Green Oak Tree as instructed. I’ll admit that I was somewhat surprised by what we found. Not only did it include the schema we so desired, but multiple other diagrams, directions and recipes for making various accessories, tonics and potions.

I made this recipe book as a gift for my lady mother and lord husband’s mother (that’s right, I did two of these suckers) to share my favourite recipes. I made all the pages, embossing the edges of each one, then used a piece of ancient designer paper to bind it all using my YourStory. The letters on the front of the book were cut using the Storybook cartridge. Okay...there’s a lot of pages, so we’ll go fast (I took pics of them before they were bound). You can click on any of the pics should you like a closer look.
The sliced apple was cut using Country Life.
Apples were cut using Give a Hoot.

Muffins were from Create-a-Critter.
The milk and eggs were cut using Country Life.
Cute smiling bananas from Create-a-Critter.
Blender cut from Nifty Fifties.
Cute panda came from Create-a-Critter.
The carrot and cheese were from Create-a-Critter and the snail is from Paisley.
Veggies were cut from Country Life.
Chicken also came from Country Life.
The corn is from Country  Life while the mushroom is from Create-a-Critter.
The KAWAII noodle bowl is from Create-a-Critter.

Lemon and can are from Simply Charmed.
Another chicken from Country Life.
Apron is from Country Life. The utensils are from Disney: Dreams Come True.
Cute mouse is from Create-a-Critter. I honestly don't remember which cartridge the flowers came from.
The ship and fish are both from Pack Your Bags.
Cute cow is from Create-a-Critter.
Cheese block is also from Create-a-Critter.
Mushrooms are all from Paisley.

It's very puffy!

Okay I know that was a lot of pages. Phew. This recipe book will cook up a storm in the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #149: Kiss the Cook
Friends of SpeedyTV Challenge #60: Recipe Card (well there’s a few here - lol)
Shopping Our Stash Challenge #90: Use your oldest designer paper
Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge #115: Anything Goes
Spark your Creativity Now! Challenge #6: Anything Goes
Crafting for All Seasons Challenge #46: Dies and Punches

We carefully removed the tome from the ground, in awe of our find. We would be able to craft some powerful accessories and potent tonics with the knowledge contained inside. The Lady Commander and I left Shabby Shutter Isle to return to the Guild Hall, eager to begin creating. Quest complete!

A Fine Vintage Indeed

As I was in the crafting chambers today, organizing my papers by size and colour, an owl came with a message from the people of Dusty Concord Isle. Their vineyards were under assault from an angry pack of hobgoblins, intent on destroying all the crop, thus cutting off the rest of the realm from the sweet wine that came from the isle. As I was partial to the fresh summer wines originating from the region, I quickly donned my armor and grabbed my great bow, ready to assist the good people of Dusty Concord Isle. Of course, a guildy never quests alone, so I asked the Guardian of Glitter to come along, as I knew the Lady Commander of Copics would have nothing to do with the "island of juice", as she calls it.

This card was really built around the sentiment from the My Creative Time "Wow! So Many Candles" set. I used the Birthday Bash cartridge to cut the base for this skinny card. I then used the Simply Charmed cartridge to cut the bottle. It's actually a champagne bottle with lots of stuff coming out of the top, but I cut all that stuff off, since I wanted it to look like a wine bottle. After putting on the label, I thought it looked a little too much like ketchup, so I used the Storybook cartridge to cut "vino" and some foliage so there was no confusion as to what it was {lol}.

Inside I added some more greenery using the Storybook cartridge and stamped the sentiment using the My Pink Stamper "Birthday Crazy" set.

I made the envelope, as I didn't have any that would fit this skinny card, and stamped a little flower on it.

This vintage will age itself in the following challenges:
Shopping Our Stash Challenge #89: They Say it's Your Birthday
MFP SpeedyTV Simple Salutations Challenge #32: Wine/Grapes
A Gem of a Challenge #67: Dies & Punches
Spark Your Creativity Now! Challenge #6: Anything Goes
Challenges 4 Everybody #14: Anything Goes

By the time the Guardian of Glitter and I arrived at Dusty Concord Isle, the attacking hobgoblins were so drunk, we were able to fell them rather easily. I didn't even have to use a healing tonic. The vineyard owners were so grateful, they bestowed upon the Guild Hall fifteen cases of their signature summer wine. Nikki and I would have to find somewhere to hide it all from the Lady Commander, as she has an unnatural aversion to all things "juicy". But that is a whole other tale unto itself.

SURPRISE Party! (and guest cards)

Today I awoke with a slight sugar hangover after all the festivities last night. Today is my nameday, and my lord husband and I had originally decided to not partake in elaborate celebrations. Little did I know that he and my sister, the Lady Commander of Copics, were using their stealth skills to sneakily plan a surprise party for me. After a hard day of working in the village, I returned to the Guild Hall only to be greeted by shouts and hoots and hollers - SURPRISE!!!!! All the Guild members were there: the Lady Commander of Copics, the Guardian of Glitter, Guild Apprentice Lindsay and even Guild Mercenary Kimmy with her little aspiring guildy. Numerous people from the village had come as well and my lady mother and lord father had made the journey to partake in the party. Perhaps the biggest surprise of all was the entertainment my lord husband had hired for the evening. A musical group known as the Jitterbugs...only it turns out they are actually bugs!

This card is more of a diorama than a traditional card per say. I had seen a tutorial on this awhile ago, but I honestly can’t remember where. It was one of those things that I just jotted down the measurements and didn’t get around to trying it for a long while. So I cut the “love bug” out using the Simply Charmed cartridge and embossed his body using the Cuttlebug. I added some glitter to his cheeks to make him sparkly. That is the first glitter I ever bought and it really sucks because I purchased it from the Everything-For-One-Brass-Coin stand in the market square (not known for high quality products).
I glued him to the back portion then cut the grass from the Create-A-Critter cartridge and adhered it to the front piece, creating a 3D effect. On the front I cut the heart shaped flower using the Give a Hoot cartridge. I freehand cut the banner shape and stamped the sentiment using the We R Memory Keepers “Cupid” stamp set.
This Valentine’s bug will crawl into the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #147: Queen of Hearts
MFP Friends of SpeedyTV Challenge #58: Valentine’s Day

Spark Your Creativity Now! Challenge #6: Anything Goes

Those little bugs sure knew how to put on a show and all of the party guests were thoroughly entertained! After watching the singing bug band we all settled around the large oak table for some board games. My lord husband and sister could not have planned a better evening to celebrate my nameday!
Lady Commander of Copics (left) and Guardian of Glitter (right)
Here are some cards I received for my birthday:

Made by Angela - the Lady Commander of Copics

She used this super cute vintage October Afternoon paper, because she knew I had the same paper and would never want to cut it because it’s too cute (and she’s right...I haven’t been able to bring myself to cut up that paper yet :D) On the inside she stamped a sentiment using the My Pink Stamper "Birthday Crazy" set.

Made by Nikki - the Guardian of Glitter

She used an ultra kawaii image by Kraftin’ Kimmie and made an awesome spritzy background for this card! It wouldn't be a card from the Guardian of Glitter without something sparkly, and she didn't disappoint; it's hard to tell in the picture, but those brads are spppppppparkly. I love how decorated the inside is! Cupcakes and washi tape and another inky spritzed up background!

Made by Travis - my Lord Husband (with assistance from the Lady Commander)
These two snuck into my crafting chambers and used my supplies to make a card. My lord husband chose everything to use and made the card while my sister guided him, as he is a complete crafting noob. He chose the monkey paper because his nickname for me is “monkey” which is the same reason I chose that paper for his birthday card a couple months ago. Super cute how he didn’t press evenly enough on the stamp to get it all ;) On the inside he stamped The Greeting Farm’s “Birthday Anya” because I had just used her on a card and he thought she was cute with a little cake on her head. {lol} This is seriously the cutest thing ever. I truly have the best husband in the world!

Chilly Willy Comes to Play

Greetings. Welcome to the Guild Hall. The unseasonably warm temperatures have abated and a winter storm is once again raging outside the Guild Hall walls. It is fortunate I had the generator for the stables repaired before the weather turned. I bundled up in my furs and ventured outdoors to perform the mundane task of shoveling a path from the lane to the Guild Hall doors. I was almost done when I noticed a large bird waddling up to the Guild Hall. He was black and white and wearing a little red bow. Curious, I set aside my shovel and slowly approached the creature. He cocked his head, an unspoken question on his face. I was about to tell him I didn’t understand when suddenly the Lady Commander of Copics burst forth from the Guild Hall and flew past me. “Yaaaaaaaa! Chilly Willy’s here to play! Let’s go!” she exclaimed grabbing the bird by his flipper and pulling him towards to large snow drifts. I should have known...

I started this card by cutting the penguin from the Simply Charmed cartridge. I gave him some bling for his bow and added a rhinestone. The sentiment I cut from the Winter Frolic cartridge and embossed it with my Cuttlebug, earning me +130 texture exp points. I added some silver ribbon on the side to finish the front off, adhering everything onto the snowflake paper.

On the inside I stamped the little penguin by Imaginisce and quickly coloured him. The sentiment came from the Lawn Fawn “Cozy Christmas” set.

This card will waddle into the following chilly challenges:
Love to Create Challenge #48: Sparkle & Snowflakes
Paper Playtime Challenge #1: Pets
Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #1: Use Ribbon
Die Cuttin’ Divas Challenge #98: Penguins
ABC Christmas Challenge: A for Animal
Cute Card Thursday Challenge #252: Diamonds and Forever
Chocolate Coffee and Cards Challenge #30: For the Birds
A Gem of a Challenge #63: Emboss It
Christmas Cards All Year ‘Round January Challenge: Anything Goes Christmas
Jingle Belles Challenge: Red, White & Jul
Spark Your Creativity Now! Challenge #5: Anything Goes
CHNC Challenge Extra January

The Lady Commander and Chilly Willy played outside in the snow for a couple hours before coming inside for some hot chocolatey beverages. I think she’s invited him for supper too. I supposed I’ll have the house gnomes prepare some...raw fish for him *blech*.

A Minty Fresh Harvest

Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I spent the day helping the Peppermint Pals. There was an early frost this year and their crop of peppermints were in danger of spoilage. Were that to come to pass, it would mean a shortage of peppermints for the upcoming holiday season. Angela and I worked tirelessly with the Peppermint Pals to harvest as much of the crop as we could to prevent that from happening. The last thing we want is riots in the village this Christmas because there aren't enough peppermints to go 'round.
I used one of the stamps from The Greeting Farm's "Miss Anya Lounge" set which I just got in the mail a few days ago after purchasing it during one of their flash sales. I coloured her in using Prismacolors, making her match the peppermint ribbon. I cut the peppermint dies out using the Simply Charmed cartridge. The sentiment was a combination of the word "sweet" from TGF "Sweet &Toxic" set and the Echo Park "Holly Jolly Christmas" set.
The inside sentiment is from the My Pink Stamper "Biggie Christmas Sentiments" set.
I used some snowflakes and stamped them in red and green to make the envelope more Christmasy, earning me +59 festive exp points.

This mint-tastic creation will be entered into the following challenges:
TGF Retro Fresh Challenge: I Want Candy
Creative Craft Challenges2: Special Occasion (not birthday)
Die Cuttin' Divas Challenge #89: Anything Goes
Tammy's Scrapin Corner Challenge #34: Anything Goes
52 Christmas Card Throwdown October Embellishment Challenge: Die Cuts
Paper Playtime Challenge #87: Anything Goes
Christmas Stampin' All Year Long Challenge #34: Circle
Pause Dream Enjoy Challenge #43: Candy
Jingle Belles: Holiday Creature Feature

We managed to save most of the peppermint crop, which is good considering Christmas is less than two months away and the harvest still has to be processed into the beloved candies. The Peppermint Pals were so grateful they sent us back to the Guild Hall with 14 cases of peppermint toothpaste.
