A Crappy Situation

Salutations. Today there was a slight mishap in the privy and I had to call a plumber in from the village to assist us as none of the spells seemed to be working. Oddly, this disgusting turn of events inspired me to create and I rushed to the crafting chambers to do so, taking care not to drink any liquids until the bathroom situation was remedied.

I started this card by stamping and colouring the toilet paper roll using the Unity “Crappy Day” itty bitty. I then cut the background shape out using the Nifty Fifties cartridge and ran it through the Cuttlebug for some texture.
Let's open 'er up...

On the sides I embossed the panels using a Tim Holtz folder and inked around the edges.
On the inside I stamped the sentiment with the same Unity itty bitty using Distress Markers instead of an ink pad to get some different colours. I then distressed the edges of the panel and added some brads.

I made a little envelope to go with it and stamped some cute hearts.

This little card will roll into the following challenges:

The man from the village did an excellent job and only charged five gold coins. I thanked him for the swiftness of his work and sent him on his way with a little care package from the house gnomes in the kitchens. Crisis averted.

Summer Days Driftin' Away...

Greetings traveller. Today we are once again adding to the family archival tome. As summer has finally descended upon the realm, we thought it fitting this time to create a summer themed entry into the ancient book. After locating some aging photos, the Lady Commander of Copics and I set to work.

Click to make BIGGER
I know, I know...two scrapbook pages in one month. It’s unprecedented. For this one we used some old photos of my parents from the 70s enjoying a summer day at the park (before they had us rugrats to contend with). I don’t make the typical scrapbook layouts...it’s more haphazard and all over the place than most you see. Anyways... We used that same weird fabricy tissue paper stuff that we used on the previous page, this time in green. The cute porcupine cooking a marshmallow was cut using the Campin’ Critters cartridge and placed next to the picture of my dad roasting a hotdog. The bikini was cut using the Nifty Fifties cartridge and the “teeny bikini” words were cut with the Life’s a Beach cartridge. (It might be hard to tell from the picture, but my mom is wearing a bikini top). Both were embossed using my Cuttlebug of +60 impressions. All the other stuff was random stuff my sister and I had in our crafting chambers.

I just have to comment on this picture because I find it hilarious. I was born in the 80s and didn’t get to see 70s fashion, so I laughed when we came across this picture of my dad with those lovely heeled shoes, long flowing hair...and what is up with that hat?! {lol} I love it. :)

Seriously...was this my mom’s hat that he was wearing?? {lol}

This layout will be roasting in the following challenges:
DRS Designs Challenge #76: The Letter “B” (bikini, bbq and binoculars)

This fun summer page was added to the ever growing tome and returned to the dusty caverns until next time we indexed the records. From this quest, I managed to earn some much needed LO exp and go up a level! Fare thee well until your next visit.

Spy Bots??

Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I went to the market square to select a nice bouquet of flowers to decorate the Guild Hall, as our lady mother was coming to pay us a visit. We went to the flower stand but there was already a patron ahead of us. She had eyes as large as saucers, and looked a little overwhelmed.
“I don’t know what to choose,” she said with no inflection in her voice, which was a little unnerving.
“Roses are always nice,” the flower seller kindly suggested.
The wide-eyed woman just blinked at her, an uncomfortable silence hanging in the air.
“I don’t know what to choose,” she repeated in her robot-like voice.
My sister and I exchanged a knowing glance. Something was definitely amiss.

I started this card by making the background using Dylusions spray inks and the “Luscious Leaves” stencil. Setting that aside to dry I coloured the “Dorothy” image from The Octopode Factory using Prismacolor pencils. Using the Art Philosophy cartridge I cut out the flowers then stamped the images using the coordinating Close To My Heart set, earning myself +420 coordination exp points. The word ‘mom’ I cut using the Nifty Fifties cartridge. I finished off the front with some yellow ribbon I got from the bargain bin at Michaels ages ago. I don’t really use it, because I just don’t like it that much - lol. I think it’s the “hooks” on the sides of it. They don’t do it for me...but, alas, it was cheap, so it found its way into my hoard.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using The Greeting Farm’s “Furever” set and added another flower.

I stamped more flowers on the envelope to make everything match.

This card will surprisingly find itself in the following challenges:
Love to Create Challenge #62: Bingo Card (used - flowers, diecuts/punches and ribbon)

“I don’t know what to choose...what to choose...choose...choose...” the woman-robot thing started stuttering and sputtering. Before I could make a move, her eyes popped out of her head, hanging by wires. Smoke swirled upwards from her empty eye sockets where I could see flashing circuits inside her head. This was definitely some sort of robot. But who built it? And to what end? This seemed like just the mysterious quest for the Crafters Guild...we haven't had a good mystery to solve in ages.

Ancient Secret Recipes

We had got another lead on the schema we were searching for that would allow us to make the legendary adhesive, so the Lady Commander of Copics and I set out to the Shabby Shutter Isle, hoping for better luck than last time. Everything on the island was varying shades of green, making it difficult to navigate and easy to lose our way. Angela began marking trees we passed, using her accessory R26, to help prevent us from getting turned around too much. We finally came to the location we sought and began to dig under the Great Green Oak Tree as instructed. I’ll admit that I was somewhat surprised by what we found. Not only did it include the schema we so desired, but multiple other diagrams, directions and recipes for making various accessories, tonics and potions.

I made this recipe book as a gift for my lady mother and lord husband’s mother (that’s right, I did two of these suckers) to share my favourite recipes. I made all the pages, embossing the edges of each one, then used a piece of ancient designer paper to bind it all using my YourStory. The letters on the front of the book were cut using the Storybook cartridge. Okay...there’s a lot of pages, so we’ll go fast (I took pics of them before they were bound). You can click on any of the pics should you like a closer look.
The sliced apple was cut using Country Life.
Apples were cut using Give a Hoot.

Muffins were from Create-a-Critter.
The milk and eggs were cut using Country Life.
Cute smiling bananas from Create-a-Critter.
Blender cut from Nifty Fifties.
Cute panda came from Create-a-Critter.
The carrot and cheese were from Create-a-Critter and the snail is from Paisley.
Veggies were cut from Country Life.
Chicken also came from Country Life.
The corn is from Country  Life while the mushroom is from Create-a-Critter.
The KAWAII noodle bowl is from Create-a-Critter.

Lemon and can are from Simply Charmed.
Another chicken from Country Life.
Apron is from Country Life. The utensils are from Disney: Dreams Come True.
Cute mouse is from Create-a-Critter. I honestly don't remember which cartridge the flowers came from.
The ship and fish are both from Pack Your Bags.
Cute cow is from Create-a-Critter.
Cheese block is also from Create-a-Critter.
Mushrooms are all from Paisley.

It's very puffy!

Okay I know that was a lot of pages. Phew. This recipe book will cook up a storm in the following challenges:
Fantabulous Cricut Challenge #149: Kiss the Cook
Friends of SpeedyTV Challenge #60: Recipe Card (well there’s a few here - lol)
Shopping Our Stash Challenge #90: Use your oldest designer paper
Penny’s Paper-Crafty Challenge #115: Anything Goes
Spark your Creativity Now! Challenge #6: Anything Goes
Crafting for All Seasons Challenge #46: Dies and Punches

We carefully removed the tome from the ground, in awe of our find. We would be able to craft some powerful accessories and potent tonics with the knowledge contained inside. The Lady Commander and I left Shabby Shutter Isle to return to the Guild Hall, eager to begin creating. Quest complete!

Glasses of Sight

Good day traveller. Welcome to the Guild Hall. Today I was visited by the village smith who modified my Pink Glasses of Sight with +43 detection points, which will make it easier to detect foes using the stealth ability. If there is one piece of equipment I love, it is my spectacles. In fact, one of my favourite things is inanimate objects or cute things wearing glasses.
I began by colouring the little goth girl from Meljen's Desgins with my Prismacolors. Then I decided she needed glasses because, in my opinion, everything is about ten times cuter when clad in glasses. I used the Lawn Fawn "Clear to See" set and just masked the arms of the glasses and stamped the frames onto the girl. I decided to run with the whole glasses theme and cut out some glasses from the Nifty Fifties cartridge. I stamped the sentiment from a cheap Imaginisce stamp. I used the Art Philosophy cartridge to cut out the "sun" shape and the diamond border shape. I embossed the white diamond shape, the white "blob" shape the girl is on, and the purple background with the Cuttlebug.
The inside I made a "background" paper using the different glasses stamps from the Lawn Fawn "Clear to See" set. The UBER CUTE milk stamp is another cheap Imaginisce stamp. The inside sentiment I created using Lawn Fawn's "Jessie's ABCs".
Stamped some more glasses on the envelope to make it all matchy matchy.

I will be entering this glasses-laden card into the following challenges:
Meljen's Designs Challenge #128: Just Because
Creative Card Crew Challenge #20: Purple
Lawnscaping Challenge #43: Texture

I look forward to testing my Pink Glasses of Sight in battle. So far I've only used them to see what's in cupboards and drawers before opening them. Sure cuts down on the time it takes to look for things.
