Polka the Demons in the Eye

Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I went to Cradle’s Grave, a massive flower field to the east, to collect a bouquet in anticipation of the arrival of our Lady Mother. The flowers growing in Cradle’s Grave are perfect for this sort of thing, as they are imbued with magic, allowing them to stay fresh for months. The only problem...the field is infested with demons.

This week the theme at Wicked Wednesday is to Polka Dots. Make an ATC following this theme for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor, Just Some Lines.

This ATC will creep into the following challenges:

My sister and I managed to fight our way through Cradle’s Grave and collect some beautiful flowers that were sure to impress our Lady Mother. If only she knew what we went through. I got a dent in my new chest plate for crying out loud!

Hi, Spring Friends

As the last of the snow seems to have finally melted away, the tiny spring garden fairies are now buzzing around the Guild Hall grounds urging the flowers to grow. Our small ladybug friends also seem to be making their way back to the realm. Upon my return to the Guild Hall this afternoon after a fretful morning questing in the Illium Mines, one of the small spring fairies offered me a thimbleful of nectar juice she had collected from the freshly blooming garden.

This card was created for the reminder about the Just Some Lines April challenge which is happening now. Our theme this month is “Think Spring”. This is your final week to come play along using a JSL image for your chance to win!

I started this card by colouring the Just Some Lines “Fairy Hello Friend” image using Prismacolour pencils and inking around the edges with Distress Ink. The sentiment was stamped with a Unity stamp (I’m not sure the name or kit it’s from as it was in a grab bag I won).

On the inside I stamped the sentiment and image using the Unity “Little Bugs” kit.

That same ladybug crawled onto the envelope as well, earning myself +222 nature XP point, leveling up my earth based magic.

This card will flutter into the following challenges:

I didn’t want to seem rude, so I accepted the drink, but as soon as her back was turned, poured the liquid on the ground. One can never be too careful when it comes to the fae...spring garden fairies or not.

Wowzers! That Demon is Huge!

Last night, the Guardian of Glitter and I set about exploring a museum that was said to house several occult exhibits. There were strange rumblings from the town’s folk of portals being opened from within the museum leading to otherworldly dimensions. Normally we don’t pay mind to gossip of the smallfolk, but we had received a raven from the Tower of Magi informing us that an ancient demon was said to be awakening and would appear through one of these portals in the museum.
We crept through the dusty halls, holding our lightstones high to stave off the inky darkness, when we suddenly heard a crash from behind us. The Guardian of Glitter and I rushed in the direction of the sound and were quite surprised to see a colourful turtle with a bird upon its back. Why, it was the same bird that had hatched at the Guild Hall not too long ago!

This card was created for the reminder about the Just Some Lines April challenge which is happening now. Our theme this month is “Think Spring”. Come play along using a JSL image for your chance to win!

I started by colouring the Just Some Lines “Turt ‘n Peep - Peep” image using Distress Markers and my Hydra Brush of watery wonders. Next I stamped the Unity “Stick With Me” itty bitty, coloured it with Distress Markers and cut it out to place over Turt and Peep. I cut out some flowers using the Art Philosophy cartridge and attached them with a brad. The sentiment on the bottom was stamped using the CAS-Ual Friday “Exclamations” set, earning me +55 bold XP points.

On the inside I stamped the top sentiment using the My Pink Stamper “Birthday Crazy” set and the bottom sentiment using the Crafty Secrets “Party Queen” set. I then used a Unity flower and inking it using Distress Markers, stamped it on the bottom.

I stamped the same flower on the envelope to make it all matchy-match.

These springtime friends will wander into the following challenges:

“Peep!” the bird cried. I lowered my lightstone in relief, but before I could laugh or wonder how the chick had even got to the museum, the turtle and the chick merged into one, growing to a height of fifteen feet! It was the Ancient One the Magi had warned us of! I drew my blade as Nikki cast a spell of protection around us. The battle to save this dimension had begun!

The Rainy Jaunt

Salutations fellow adventurers. Things have been rather hectic at the Guild Hall lately, leaving little time for recreation. Today I had to head to the village for more crafty supplies which we needed to complete some outstanding quests. To shield myself from the rain, I donned my rain gear and wielded my umbrella, increasing my dry stats. I was almost to the market square when the rain suddenly stopped and the sun began to peek through the grey clouds.

This card was created for the reminder about the Just Some Lines April challenge which is happening now. Our theme this month is “Think Spring”. Come play along using a JSL image for your chance to win!

I started this card by colouring the Just Some Lines “Emo Amber Springtime Set” using Prismacolor pencils. The background I coloured with Distress Ink, earning +30 blending XP points. The sentiment was stamped using a Unity stamp.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:
This was a fortuitous turn in the weather as now I wouldn’t have to carry the supplies back in the rain and risk them being ruined with water. On the downside, I did start to overheat on the way back with my heavy rain gear. I suppose you can’t win ‘em all.

Hop Across the Pond

Yesterday we received a surprise visit at the Guild Hall. One of the humabbits my lord husband and I discovered last year whilst exploring the Peeled Paint Port had made his way all the way to our realm to celebrate the Spring Festival! I hadn’t realized we’d made that much of an impression on their clan. He was clearly tired from his long journey overseas, especially since he had hauled a massive Spring Festival egg with him the whole way, so I set  him up in a spare room in the Guild Hall where he immediately fell asleep.

This card was created for the Just Some Lines April challenge which started today. Our theme this month is Easter/Spring. Come play along using a JSL image for your chance to win!

I started this card by colouring the Just Some Lines “Emo Little Boy Easter Egg Peeker” image using Prismacolor pencils for the boy and Distress Inks for the egg.
I also sprayed the egg with Dylusions white spray ink and a Tim Holtz stencil to make some subtle spots on it. (It was extremely hard to photograph this). The sentiment I stamped using the Lawn Fawn “Jessie’s ABCs” set.

On the inside I used the Unity “Good Egg, Bad Egg” kit for the sentiment and the image.

I managed to dig deep into my stash and find a stamp that was the exact same shape as that flower brad to use on the envelope. I have no idea what company that stamp is from (I want to say Fiskars) as it is in one of my stamp binders and unlabelled.

This card will peek into the following challenges:

Upon waking this morning I was shocked to see that all the rocks and boulders surrounding the Guild Hall had been decorated to look like Spring Festival eggs. I was delighted with all the rainbowy colours and went outside to get a closer look. I spotted our visitor sitting next to a “blank” boulder, surrounded by paints and brush in hand. I smiled and left him to it, excited to see what else he would decorate for the upcoming festival.

Just My Luck

Today I spent the afternoon with my direwolf, exploring in the Whispering Woods. As he hunted rabbits and other small creatures, I fought some low level forest dwellers for extra experience points. As I had just finished delivering the killing blow to a mullnut demon, something in the forest brush caught my eye. I wiped the sticky blue demon blood from my dagger and walked towards my find. Clearing away branches and leaves I was surprised to see a green top-hat. It was so out of place in the demon filled woods, I couldn’t help but laugh.

This card was created for the reminder about the Just Some Lines March challenge which is happening now. Our theme this month is Good Luck/St. Patrick’s Day. This is your last week to come play along using a JSL image for your chance to win!

I started this card by colouring and cutting out the hat from the Just Some Lines New Year Babe image. The letters were leftover from this card which I cut using the Lawn Fawn “Quinn’s ABCs” die set. I added the circles on the bottom using a Unity stamp. A scrap of black ribbon and some black brads finished off the front.

This card will try its luck in the following challenges:

I picked the hat up and looked inside, not sure what I was expecting to find. I was extremely surprised to see two sacks of gold coins tucked in there. It must have been my lucky day! I placed the silly oversized hat on my head and stashed the gold in my satchel, whistling for my direwolf. Then the two of us headed towards the village to spend our small fortune...there were some new magical stamps I was eyeing up…

Gold Coin Cache

Greetings. Today I came across a great boon whilst questing in the Whispering Woods. I decided to do some grinding for XP to level up a bit before our quest to Icy Land when my direwolf suddenly darted off in the opposite direction. Silently cursing, I took off after the beast. My anger at him was short lived when I spotted what he had been leading me to.

This card was created for the reminder about the Just Some Lines March challenge which is happening now. Our theme this month is Good Luck/St. Patrick’s Day. Come play along using a JSL image for your chance to win!

I started by colouring the Just Some Lines “Em Joy” image using Prismacolor pencils. Next I cut the pot of gold out using the Create-a-Critter 2 cartridge. I then used Art Philosophy to cut a bunch of tiny circles for the coins. Deep in my paper stash I found two patterned papers I’ve had forever and used those for the background. Last I dug out some sticker letters I got about two years ago and have yet to open the package and created the sentiment.

This card will be entered into the following challenges:
Top Tip Tuesday: 3, 5 or 7 (five letter stickers)

I don’t know how my direwolf knew to lead me to this spot, but I was thrilled with the chest of gold coins that looked as though it had been hastily hidden beneath the brush. By the looks of the rusted lock, it appeared to have been left quite awhile ago. I smashed the brittle lock with the hilt of my sword to access the small fortune inside. These coins would go a long way in fixing up the Guild Hall and replenishing our dwindling supplies after the harsh winter. I suppose I could buy a nice treat for my direwolf as well.

Increasing Our Luck Stats

In preparation for our quest to Icy Land, the Guardian of Glitter decided it prudent to call upon a luck fairy to bless our quest. I was skeptical as to the actual effects a luck fairy would have, but didn’t think it could hurt to have some extra luck on our side as we made the long and difficult journey to the frozen isle.

This card was created for the Just Some Lines March challenge which started today. Our theme this month is Good Luck/St. Patrick’s Day. Come play along using a JSL image for your chance to win!

I started this card by colouring the Just Some Lines “Fairy - 4 Leaf Clover” image using Prismacolor pencils and cutting her out. I then cut out some shamrocks using the Create-a-Critter 2 cartridge. I chose some ultra mega sparkly background paper that I’ve had sitting in my stash for over three years and die cut the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn “Quinn’s ABCs” dies. I used the negative cut and mounted the green paper onto some textured white paper, earning an extra +66 textile XP points.

The inside of this card is blank so I didn’t photograph it (obviously, cuz who wants to view a white rectangle?). The envelope I simply stamped using the Dylusions “Further Around the Edge” set.

This fairy will spread some luck across the following challenges:

Turns out the luck fairy not only shared a love of all things sparkly with the Guardian of Glitter, but she was also an avid gamer. After performing her luck increasing spell on us, we all sat down and played some Mage Knight. It was a fairy fun time <--lol puns.
