Just My Luck

Today I spent the afternoon with my direwolf, exploring in the Whispering Woods. As he hunted rabbits and other small creatures, I fought some low level forest dwellers for extra experience points. As I had just finished delivering the killing blow to a mullnut demon, something in the forest brush caught my eye. I wiped the sticky blue demon blood from my dagger and walked towards my find. Clearing away branches and leaves I was surprised to see a green top-hat. It was so out of place in the demon filled woods, I couldn’t help but laugh.

This card was created for the reminder about the Just Some Lines March challenge which is happening now. Our theme this month is Good Luck/St. Patrick’s Day. This is your last week to come play along using a JSL image for your chance to win!

I started this card by colouring and cutting out the hat from the Just Some Lines New Year Babe image. The letters were leftover from this card which I cut using the Lawn Fawn “Quinn’s ABCs” die set. I added the circles on the bottom using a Unity stamp. A scrap of black ribbon and some black brads finished off the front.

This card will try its luck in the following challenges:

I picked the hat up and looked inside, not sure what I was expecting to find. I was extremely surprised to see two sacks of gold coins tucked in there. It must have been my lucky day! I placed the silly oversized hat on my head and stashed the gold in my satchel, whistling for my direwolf. Then the two of us headed towards the village to spend our small fortune...there were some new magical stamps I was eyeing up…

Fabulous find in the forest! I really like the clean lines of this card. The circles at the bottom, the striking ribbon, and the beautiful hat all play off well against the white background. The black touches make everything pop. Thanks for joining our Anything Goes/Add a brad or eyelet challenge this fortnight at Craftitude. I always enjoy my visits.
