The Pink Watchers

Greetings, traveller. Not a whole lot has been happening at the Guild Hall in the Lady Commander's absence. The other day I was riding my horse, Ruffles, to the neighbouring village to collect some more crafting parchment and passed a house with strange decorations in front of it. Dozens of pink bird-like creatures adorned the property. They weren't alive, mind you; they were crafted out of wood and paint. In amongst the birds was a sign which read "Lordy Lordy...Walden's 40!" What a cruel jape! Who would go to the trouble to construct these pink monstrosities, then transport them here, just to let everyone know that it is Walden's 40th name day. Strange. The odd bird creatures did provide me with some inspiration to create a card after I had procured more crafting parchment.

Everything on this card is from the Lawn Fawn "Gnome Sweet Gnome" set except for that cloud. That came from the My Little Shoebox "Home Tweet Home" set. I coloured the flamingos and the bee with Distress Markers and used Distress Ink to fill in the grass at the bottom. This earned me +20 simplicity exp points.

Super simple inside. I left it blank so I could just write whatever on the inside when it came time to give this card to someone.

And I stamped the same bee image on the envelope to make everything all matchy-matchy.

I did later learn that Walden drank one too many ales at the village tavern during his name day celebration and got into a fight with some orcs he encountered on the road back to his dwelling. Unfortunately, the orcs got the better of Walden with a roll of 19 and he shan't be seeing his 41st name day.
