Spring into Action

As the days grow longer, the weather has become increasingly more pleasant. As I was putzing around the Guild Hall grounds, trying to get things cleaned up after the melt I noticed some geese flying overhead, returning from their trip to the south. The biggest sign that Spring was on the way however, was when I spotted a pink flower fairy fluttering around the garden, gracefully planting seeds that would bloom into a rainbow of colour in a couple months.

This week the theme at Wicked Wednesday is Spring is in the Air. Make an ATC with a springy theme for a chance to win a prize from our sponsors, A Day For Daisies and Nana Vic’s Digitals.

For my first ATC I used an image from Nana Vic’s Digitals. I coloured it using Prismacolor pencils and inked the edges with Distress Ink. The sentiment was stamped with the Crafty Secrets “Couple of Cuties” set.

For my second ATC I used the A Day For Daisies “Curly Flower Fairy” image and coloured it using Prismacolor pencils. The leafy things I stamped using the Lawn Fawn “Critters Down Under” set. I then cast a sparkle spell using my Wink of Stella wand to add some glitter to the leaves and the fairies wings.

A Tacky Farewell

Greetings. Thank you for stopping by the Guild Hall today. I have made the difficult decision to leave the Creative Card Crew Guild after two years with them. A fantastic set of adventurers, I wish them all the best on their crafty quests. In spite of my sadness at parting from the Creative Card Crew Guild, the Lady Commander of Copics and I still had to attend the union of the Arch Duke of Adhesives and his sticky new bride. The wedding was the perfect chance for one more crafty quest with Creative Card Crew.

Iced Raspberry Balls

Thank you for stopping by the Guild Hall. Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I decided to do some adventuring in the Iced Raspberry Woods. We had received a quest from a gent at the local tavern, tipping us off that this particular forest was flush with rare raspberry balls...if you could make it through the throng of monsters. Raspberry balls contain juices within their tough shell, which can be used as a powerful healing agent if combined into the correct tonic. Angela and I had been questing for upwards of an hour, battling our way through the forest, when we came upon a small ice nymph. Her blue hair sparkled with ice crystals and to our surprise, she was holding onto one of the coveted raspberry balls!

I started this card by colouring the A Day For Daisies image “Christmas Pixi Two” using Prismacolor pencils. I die cut and stamped the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn “Quinn’s ABCs set”. The snowflakes were die cut using the Lawn Fawn “Stitched Snowflakes” die set.

The trees on the paper are super sparkly...but I decided I needed to level up the sparkle on this card, and added some more to her scarf and boots.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn “Joy to the Woods” set. The baubles I stamped using the Lawn Fawn “Ornate Ornaments” set and instead of colouring them, decided to paper piece the balls, earning +40 patterned XP points.

The envelope was stamped using a CTMH set with Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers Distress Inks to make it match the front of the card.

I took a tentative step towards the ice nymph, eyes fixed on the raspberry ball she was clutching in her small hands. She responded by hissing, showing her sharp pointed teeth.

“So, not friendly then,” the Lady Commander of Copics quipped.

“Seems not. But we didn’t come all this way to leave empty handed,” I declared, notching my bow.

We would have those balls, one way or another!

A Lost Day

The Guild Hall seems to have slipped through a sort of time distortion, propelling us through the future. As such, the Guardian of Glitter and I seemed to have missed an entire day! This could only be the work of one of those mischievous holly fairies that show up this time of year. Nikki and I cast a locating spell to find the winged trouble maker before it could mess up the flow of time any further.

This week the theme at Wicked Wednesday is “Happy Holidays.” Make an ATC that goes with this theme for a chance to win a prize from our sponsor, A Day for Daisies!

I started this ATC by colouring the A Day for Daisies image using Prismacolor pencils. I then stamped the holly image using the Lawn Fawn “Winter Gifts” set and coloured them with Prismacolor pencils as well. The sentiment was stamped using the Bug Bites “Mistletoe” set.

The background was painted using some suuuuper shiny gold airbrushing paint. I also used my Wink of Stella pen on her wings to make em sparkly, earning me +80 bonus shiny XP points.

A Fairy Anticipated Message

Today, filled with melancholy over the absence of my sister, I took to Glitter Grove for a quiet stroll. I had not heard from the Lady Commander of Copics since her departure a fortnight ago, and wondered if she had made it to the Floundering Reef with those pirates. I sat beneath the shade of a willow tree and was completely lost in thought when a small voice pulled me out of my reverie.  

“Guild Master?” came a soft whisper from above me.

“Tis I,” I replied, standing and turning to see the speaker.

A tiny glittering fairy sat upon a low branch looking at me. “I have news of your sister.”

I started this card by colouring the Day For Daisies “Fall Fairy Friend” image using Prismacolor pencils. I then cropped it, cutting it so that her wings, foot and the leaf were hanging over the edge of the box. The sentiment was stamped with a Unity stamp and some stitching was added with a white gel pen.

Her wings are painted with shimmery gold and bronze paint, earning me +77 shiny XP points.

On the inside I stamped the top sentiment using the Crafty Secrets “Glamour Girls” set and the bottom one using the Unity “Happy Everything” kit.

The envelope was stamped with an flourish from the Crafty Secrets “Glamour Girls” set.

It turns out that the Lady Commander had indeed made it to the Floundering Reef alive and was last seen entering the Duke of Dies lair. She had not emerged since. This news troubled me, and I set out at once for the Guild Hall to formulate a plan with the Guardian of Glitter. We had to save our missing guildy!

A Sinking Situation

Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I travelled to the forbidden isle of Hroshi, in search of four mysterious treasures that were said to be hidden there by the long lost ranger, Yason. Things were going well at first; we had already located two of the four treasures, easily dispensing of the low level vermin that plagued the island, when suddenly the island started to flood. Then, just as rapidly, parts of it started to sink! We were in a field of pink flowers that were as tall as us, wondering which way would be the safest to go when an apparition appeared, taking the form of a beautiful woman.

I started this CAS card by colouring the A Day For Daisies “Bed Head Woman” image using Distress Markers and my waterbrush of damp design. I stamped the flowers using the Unity “Insightful Meadows” set and added the sentiment (which is also a Unity stamp). A delicate pink ribbon and gemstone finished off the front.  

The inside was stamped with some Unity stamps to create the sentiment. I used the same flower from the front as well to make a subtle background.

The envelope was then stamped with the same flower as the front of the card to tie it all together, earning me +100 coordination XP points, which will likely help with my bow and dagger throwing skills as well.

The mysterious apparition made no sound, simply gestured for us to follow her. She lead us to the safety of the Silver Gate, where the water had yet to cover the ground. Silently, she handed me an escape potion and nodded once. I didn’t need her to tell me what to do with that vial! The Lady Commander and I quickly cast escape using the provided potion and ended up back at the safety of the Guild Hall. It was a shame we had to leave those last two treasures. Perhaps one day we shall figure out a way to retrieve them.
