A Fluffy Cloud Cradle

Greetings and welcome to the Guild Hall. Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I spent the day in Tadpole Pond helping Frogfucious gather the remaining paintbrush crop before the impending snow storm hit. As I stood next to the river that had yet to freeze over, picking the mature paintbrush bushels, I saw something floating towards us. It was difficult to see, but as it neared us I could tell it was a baby floating on a cloud. We couldn’t very well leave it floating downstream so I waded into the water to retrieve the cloud with the sleeping child. 

It’s a new month and time for a new challenge at Just Some Lines. Come play in our November Challenge and make a craft with at least three different embellishments and a Just Some Lines image for your chance to win!

I started this card by colouring the Just Some Lines “Sweet Dreams Baby Fairy” image using Distress Markers and my Hydra Brush. I then added some sparkles to the wings, earning myself +77 glittery exp points and leveling up one shiny level. The sentiment I stamped using the My Craft Spot “New Arrivals” set.

I used that same set on the inside to stamp the inner sentiment.

I stamped some light blue stars on the envelope using the Lawn Fawn “Summertime Charm” and “Winter in the Park” sets.

Once the boy was safely ashore, the cloud he was on disappeared. Frogfucious insisted on raising the child as his own, naming him Mallow. I had a sneaking suspicion that the baby had come from Nimbusland, but why he was sent away on a cloud was a mystery.

Baby Snatching Shifter

Greetings. Thank you for stopping by the Guild Hall. Today, the Lady Commander of Copics and I were traipsing through the Victorian Velvet Underground in search of a shifter who was supposedly kidnapping babies. The creature was transforming into a bird to gain entry into people’s homes through open windows, then shifting back into its human form and stealing the children - to what end we do not know. We’ve received several ravens at the Guild Hall though, pleading us to help find the children and stop this rogue shifter.

I started this card by stamping the Unity image (I don’t know its name as it was included free with one of my orders with no packaging) and colouring it with Distress Markers. There was too much white space for my liking, so I inked the edges with Spun Sugar Distress Ink then stamped the swirly floral border using the Inkadinkado “Flower Flourishes” set. The sentiment I stamped using the My Craft Spot “New Arrival” set. A couple heart shaped pearls and some twine finished off the front of this card.

On the inside I jazzed up the pink cardstock using the Flower Flourishes set again. The sentiment came from the New Arrival set as well.

The envelope was also stamped with the Flower Flourishes set, earning me +333 triple tech exp points, in addition to making everything match.

After battling through waves of low level minions, we finally came across the lair of the shifter. The creature itself was nowhere to be seen, but the children were all there, locked in cages. The Lady Commander and I quickly freed them, bringing them to the surface to return to their homes. Although the children were rescued, that bird shifter is still out there. We’d have to do some more research and perhaps a locating spell to properly track the criminal down and stop it for good.

A Little Luck

Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I were on a quest exploring Bone Folder’s Crease, a dangerous valley ripe with putrid undead. It is certaining not a locale one goes for pleasure, but we needed a flowering pumice pear plant and they were only know to grow in the Crease. As such, we armed ourselves to the teeth, as it were, and set out. We had been searching for hours, encountered numerous battles and down to our last mana potion when we spotted a curious sight. A lone pale yellow butterfly fluttered in front of us before taking off to the east. We decided to follow the creature, mindful of the tale we had just heard.

I started this card by embossing two halves of a piece of shimmery white paper, earning me +291 texturization exp points and allowing me to level up! I then scored the unembossed strip and stamped the sentiment using a Close To My Heart set. The butterflies I cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge. As a final touch I used some yellow raffia I had procured at the dollar store many moons prior.

On the inside I cut the white panel and another butterfly using the Art Philosophy cartridge. I then stamped the sentiment using the My Craft Spot “New Arrival” set.

This fluttery creation will fly into the following challenges:

The mysterious butterfly lead us straight to a small patch of grass, in the middle of which was growing the pumice pear plant we sought. Amazed at our luck, we carefully extracted what we required and after refilling our magic points with the last mana potion, used an escape spell to head back to the Guild Hall, as we definitely didn’t have enough potions to get us all the way back through Bone Folder’s Crease intact. The Lady Commander later confessed to me that she had slipped a luck stone in her satchel before we left which may have played a part in the butterfly’s appearance. No matter - quest complete.

Attack of 'Ol Spindly Arms

Welcome to the Guild Hall. Don’t mind the mess, today there was a bit of a commotion around the here, as the Lady Commander of Copics accidentally inhaled a large quantity of fae dust. She was working in her crafting chambers when her mischievous feline knocked over a jar of the volatile substance, releasing a silvery-blue cloud of the powder. Upon inhaling it, she immediately became giddy, jumping and twirling across the Guild Hall. Anyone she passed, she stopped and subjected them to a giant, bone-crushing embrace. I don’t know where her spindly arms found the strength for a such a feat. As numerous house gnomes and passing animals were also subjected to this, I rushed to the labs to create an antidote as quickly as possible.

I started out by colouring the image using Prismacolors and inking the edges with Distress Ink. I dug out an old paper pad that I’ve had forever and don’t really use, because, honestly, I’m not too keen on most of the paper in it (don’t ask me why I bought it...it was probably on sale). Anyways...I chose some paper from that pad to use as the background. I then used some glitter paper (again...something I bought and baaaaaarely ever use) and embossed it with a flower embossing folder. I cut the shape for the sentiment (stamped using the My Craft Spot “New Arrivals” set) using the Art Philosophy cartridge.

On the inside I used more of the background paper (may as well try and use it up) and stamped the sentiment using the My Pink Stamper “Family & Friends” set onto the shape I cut from the Art Philosophy cartridge.

I stamped some flowers on the envelope to make it all matchy-match (sorta) and that was that.
