Sing For Your Supper

Today I was hunting in the Forest of Woe with my direwolf, Lycan when we heard some singing come from the depths of the forest. Curious and over confident with my familiar by my side, I headed deeper into the woods to investigate. As I neared the source, I could hear that the song was a popular Winter Festival carol. Lycan started to growl deep in his throat, apparently not a fan of the tune. I shushed him and crept closer. In a small clearing I spotted a choir of bears, singing away.

I started this card by colouring the Stamp Fairy image using Prismacolors. I cut out the window and used some tulle and thread to fashion some curtains. It looked a little odd with no rod, so I cut a chopstick in half using a butcher knife as my sister cowered in fear, ready to call 911 should I injure myself, to make a little curtain rod. I stamped the banner using the Lawn Fawn “Bannerific” set and then stamped the sentiment with the Bug Bites “Mistletoe” set. For the background I used some gold coloured music note paper that I’ve been saving for a couple years. I don’t know what it is with me and saving music note paper. I love it and keep buying it, but love it so much I never want to cut it...go figure…

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using The Greeting Farm “Holiday Blessings” set. I added some music notes with the Lawn Fawn “Winter Sparrow” set.

Those same music notes also got stamped on the envelope, tying this musical symphony together and earning me +300 musical exp points and leveling up my bard class skills.

I crouched by a tall pine tree, my boots covered in snow, listening to the bear choir. They were actually quite good. Their festive music imbued me with the Great Winter Festival spirit, and I abandoned my hunt, much to Lycan’s dismay, rushing back to the Guild Hall and my crafting chambers to create some holiday cards.

Banner Up!

Greetings! Thank you for stopping by the Guild Hall. Tonight we are preparing for the Firework Festival that will be happening in the village event square after the sun goes down. The Lady Commander of Copics has been busy cutting pieces to make the banners we will hang to decorate the square, whilst the Guardian of Glitter has been downing mana potions like they’re candy and casting a sparkle spell on each piece to give them some shine. Seeing all the banners go up, gave me just the inspiration I needed to finish a name-day card I’d been neglecting for the past fortnight, and I rushed to the crafting chambers to complete it.

I started out by colouring the Stamp Fairy image with Prismacolors and inking around the edges with Distress Ink. I then lightly stamped around the edges of the image using the Inkadinkado “Classic Flourish Filigree” set to create a border and fill in the white space. Next I used the Lawn Fawn “Say Cheese” stamp set and coordinating die to cut out the polaroid. This was the first time I’ve used the die and it was sooooooo much easier than trying to cut that stamp out by hand! In fact, it saved me +394 stamina points which I was able to use elsewhere. I stamped the sentiment on the polaroid using a Close To My Heart set. On the teal background paper I used the Unity “Worn Music” stamp to jazz it up a little (heh...get it....jazz...music....lol). Last stamp I used was the Unity “Encircled Love” itty bitty to stamp the flags. 

On the inside I stamped the same banners at the top, then used the Unity “Fabulous Girl” itty bitty for the sentiment. The circles on the bottom are another Unity stamp that I don’t know the name for, as I explained here, coming up with the name “Crop Circles” until I find out what it’s actually called.  

I stamped the banner again on the envelope to make everything match all nicely. I love those two colour of Distress Inks together.

The Firework Festival was beautiful as the sky was alight with dancing rainbow explosions. In one of the alleyways however, I did spy a shady looking character named Redd who was selling overpriced tickets for a chance to win a prize. Several townsfolk had already fallen prey to his scheme, so me and my great-sword chased him out of town before anyone else parted with their gold coins.

April Showers Are Just Wet

Good day to you, traveller. I apologize for the tardiness of this inscription, however I have fallen ill on our journey back to the Guild Hall after visiting the Peeled Paint Port. Although the lands were beautiful and lush, it did rain quite a few days, which likely contributed to my illness. But, enough wallowing...my lord husband and I had a wonderful time, despite the weather, making the best of the rainy days. I purchased a new accessory called an umbrella, which acted as a rain shield, keeping my armour dry for the most part. I brought a few back to the Guild Hall so my fellow guildys could delight in this invention.

I started by colouring up the Stamp Fairy digi using Prismacolors then inking around the edges with Distress Ink. I used the My Little Shoebox “Home Tweet Home” set to stamp the cloud image on some textured paper and cut them out, adhering them with pop dots for some dimension. I also stamped the same cloud image in blue ink on the blue paper, earning me +48 subtly exp points. The sentiment came from the Dylusions “Say What You Mean” set.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using the My Little Shoebox “Oasis” set and the smiley face from the Lawn Fawn “Say Cheese” set.

I stamped more of the clouds on the envelope to make it match the card.
