Ancient Secret Recipes

We had got another lead on the schema we were searching for that would allow us to make the legendary adhesive, so the Lady Commander of Copics and I set out to the Shabby Shutter Isle, hoping for better luck than last time. Everything on the island was varying shades of green, making it difficult to navigate and easy to lose our way. Angela began marking trees we passed, using her accessory R26, to help prevent us from getting turned around too much. We finally came to the location we sought and began to dig under the Great Green Oak Tree as instructed. I’ll admit that I was somewhat surprised by what we found. Not only did it include the schema we so desired, but multiple other diagrams, directions and recipes for making various accessories, tonics and potions. 

I made this recipe book as a gift for my lady mother and lord husband’s mother (that’s right, I did two of these suckers) to share my favourite recipes. I made all the pages, embossing the edges of each one, then used a piece of ancient designer paper to bind it all using my YourStory. The letters on the front of the book were cut using the Storybook cartridge. Okay...there’s a lot of pages, so we’ll go fast (I took pics of them before they were bound). The sliced apple was cut using Country Life.

Apples were cut using Give a Hoot.

Muffins were from Create-a-Critter.

The milk and eggs were cut using Country Life.

The corn is from Country  Life while the mushroom is from Create-a-Critter.

The KAWAII noodle bowl is from Create-a-Critter.

Lemon and can are from Simply Charmed.

Another chicken from Country Life.

Apron is from Country Life. The utensils are from Disney: Dreams Come True.

Cute mouse is from Create-a-Critter. I honestly don't remember which cartridge the flowers came from.

The ship and fish are both from Pack Your Bags.

Cute cow is from Create-a-Critter.

Cheese block is also from Create-a-Critter.

Mushrooms are all from Paisley.

It's very puffy!

We carefully removed the tome from the ground, in awe of our find. We would be able to craft some powerful accessories and potent tonics with the knowledge contained inside. The Lady Commander and I left Shabby Shutter Isle to return to the Guild Hall, eager to begin creating. Quest complete!

I'll Love My Direwolf Fur-Ever!

After the hard battle fought earlier today at Bradsville, I needed to do something relaxing to wind down. I decided a nice long walk through the Forbidden Forest with my direwolf, Lycan would suffice. I quickly learned why it was called the forbidden forest though, and what was supposed to be a relaxing walk to wind down, turned into a battle with some skeletal brigands.

I started by stamping the image from The Greeting Farm’s “Furever” set. I crafted this card outside the Guild Hall, and as such didn’t have my trusty Prismacolor sticks. I had to use what was available to me...some half broken Crayon pencil crayons. Side note: Crayola pencil crayons do not blend well. So please forgive the subpar colouring which made me lose -50 colouring exp points. I didn’t even know you could lose exp before this. I distressed and inked the edges, adding some brads that I received as a reward for defending Bradsville. The sentiment and bone came from the same stamp set. I used the Pack Your Bags cartridge to cut out the little postage stamp shapes to stamp them on. Wow...I just said stamp a lot of times...I added that paw print ribbon that has been sitting in my stash for over a year and NEVER been used.

The inside sentiment, heart and paws are all also from The Greeting Farm’s “Furever” set. I distressed and inked the edges of this paper too.

I stamped some paws on the envelope to make everything coordinate.

My direwolf and I were able to easily defeat the brigands. I gave up trying to go on a relxing walk and simply headed back to the Guild Hall for a cup of tea and a good book. *sigh* Adventuring is hard work.

The Lake of Mirrors

It sure has been a hot last couple days in the Guild Hall. I had to send the house gnomes to the market to purchase some jars of witchwind in an attempt to keep the place cool.  The Lady Commander suggested an outing to the Lake of Mirrors to help "beat the heat". I vetoed that idea on account of the recent harpy infestation. Her suggestion did remind me of our "beach" outing to the Lake of Mirrors the previous year when we took our pets to the lake and my dire wolf, Lycan, went swimming for the first time.

First I spritzed the page with my London Blue Dylusions spray ink earning me +45 splatter exp points. I cut the phrase "splash" from the Pack Your Bags cartridge and embossed it using good 'ol reliable Swiss Dots. The little sun was from Simply Charmed and the phrase "doggy days" was from Four Legged Friends. I earned a triple combo bonus for using three different cartridges on this layout netting me +357 exp points!

I don't know how I feel about this layout. I definitely specialize in card making attack points and I will have to level up my scrapbook layout magic quite a bit. Well...not going to level up if I don't gain some experience first.
