Tags of +55 Christmas Cheer

Salutations. There is a lot to inscribe today, so I shall keep the preamble short. I have been shut in the crafting chambers for the past 17 hours as the candles wore down, toiling away on a gift for our neighbor, Madam Wendy. A kind soul, I figured she could use some magically infused gift tags for her Winter Festival gifts.

I started this set by cutting all the tags using the Winter Frolic cartridge. I then started stamping the tags. The penguin tag was stamped with the Unity “Tinsel in a Tangle” itty bitty and coloured with Distress Markers. I added some glitter to the tinsel for some extra sparkle. 

The reindeer tag was stamped using the Hero Arts “Christmas Reindeer” set. I coloured him in with Distress Markers and paper pieced his sweater. The sentiment came from the My Pink Stamper “Christmas Wishes” set. Up next is an owl stamped using the Lawn Fawn “Winter Owl” set. He was also coloured with Distress Markers and had his scarf paper pieced. The sentiment was stamped with the Lawn Fawn “Winter Fox” set.

On the next row is a punny tag stamped using the Penny Black “Joyful Peas” stamp. I coloured it with Distress Markers and added some snowflakes in the background. Next over is the fox from the Lawn Fawn “Winter Fox” set. I coloured him with Distress Markers and stamped the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn “Cozy Christmas” set. Next tag was stamped using an Inkadinkado stamp. The next tag was stamped with the Unity “One of a Kind Christmas” set. I coloured him with Distress Markers and added some glitter to his hat. The snowflake was cut using the Art Philosophy cartridge. Want to know a secret? The only reason I added that snowflake was because when that tag was being cut, it actually messed up that part, so I used the snowflake to cover it. 

See - I cut two snowflakes and glued them together to cover the messed up part of the tag. This earned me +693 stealth exp points.  

The next tag was stamped using the Lawn Fawn “Winter Sparrows” set and coloured with Distress Markers. The last tag (and my personal favourite) was stamped with the Lawn Fawn “Yeti, Set, Go” set. I coloured him with Distress Markers and then covered him in Ice Stickles.

Don’t worry...I didn’t skip the first two tags. The top left tag was stamped using the Unity “Warm Winter Comforts” itty bitty and the Echo Park “Holly Jolly Christmas” set. I coloured it in sepia tones using Distress Markers.

This tag was stamped using the Lawn Fawn “Making Frosty Friends” set. The sentiment came from the BugBites “Mistletoe” set. This tag also got the snowflake treatment for the same reason as that other snowman tag. The snowflake was cut using Art Philosophy and then I glued a shiny iridescent snowflake and a rhinestone on top.

Because I made this set as a gift, I couldn’t very well just give the recipient a mitt-full of loose tags, so I had to make something for them to go into. I cut this folder and snowflakes out using the Artbooking cartridge. The sentiment shapes were cut using Art Philosophy. I stamped the title of the little folder using the Lawn Fawn “Cozy Christmas” and “Harold’s ABCs” set.

And look how nice and snug the tags look in their new home :)

Madam Wendy was very happy with the gift tags. I neglected to tell her of the creative spells I cast upon the tags, to be unleashed upon the opening of the present they are attached to. I’ll let that be a fun surprise on Christmas morning.

Day Dreaming a Nightmare

Welcome to the Guild Hall. Today I decided to take my direwolf, Lycan and head to the Whispering Woods. I needed to escape the hall and have some alone time. There is a little known spot in the center of the woods that is filled with fluttering butterflies. Lycan trotted beside me, occasionally darting off to hunt, but never straying too far. Using my magical compass, I was easily able to find the butterfly filled clearing. I found a nice tree and was just about to sit and relax when I suddenly noticed the ominous absence of the mystical butterflies. I slowly turned and was surprised to see a giant Insectoid demon. Luckily, a good guildy never leaves without a plethora of weapons. I quickly downed an elixir and freed my blade from its sheath.

There is a lot going on in this card. I started by cutting the tag using the Winter Frolic cartridge and inking it up. 

The butterflies I cut using the Cricut Give a Hoot cartridge, then stamped some designs on their wings with the Lawn Fawn “Sophie’s Sentiments” set. The sentiment I stamped using the Dylusions “Quintessential Quotes” set.

On the inside I stamped some simple flowers and doodled around the edge. I left the inside blank so this card can really be used for anything, or a “just because”. This earned me +492 versatility exp points.

My direwolf must have sensed I was in danger, as he quickly returned to my side and was ready for battle. We were able to perform some tricky beast mode dual techs and fell the foul creature. As the Insectoid demon crumpled to the ground, the butterflies slowly started to fill the clearing once more. I watched in awe as they shone with a golden light, surrounding my direwolf and I, in what I can only imagine was thanks for defeating the demon invader.

Drunken Sparkles Galore

Today the Lady Commander of Copics and I had to head to the royal dungeons to free the Guardian of Glitter. It would seem she was running amok last night, drunk off wine of the fae, spreading sparkles on everything and everyone she passed. Luckily, because the Crafters Guild is in good standing with the king and queen, we were able to get an audience with the royal couple rather quickly to beg for her release. 

I started this card by embossing the blue cardstock with the Winter Frolic coordinating Cuttlebug folder. It’s a pretty busy pattern, so I wanted to keep everything else simple. I cut the sentiment out of shiny white paper using the Winter Frolic cartridge. I then added some glitter around the edges of the embossed “shape” and popped a bow at the top, calling it a day and earning me +55 simplicity exp points.

I assured their highnesses, that this type of thing would never happen again. Frankly I don’t even know where she got access to fairy wine. Any true adventurer knows better than to eat or drink anything from the fae kingdom! Unless....yes....perhaps someone tricked poor Nikki into drinking the wine, not telling her it was of the fae. But to what end? It would seem another mystery has presented itself. Before we could begin to solve it though, we would have to help the Guardian of Glitter clean up the sparkley mess she created in last night’s glittery escapade...

Woe is Tree

This morning, the Lady Commander of Copics and I set out travelling north to the perpetually snow covered land of Mount Woe. We decided to go questing there to not only escape the pressing summer heat, but also to collect some of the magical evergreen branches from the unique trees that grow on the mountain. As we neared Mount Woe though, we immediately regretted our decision to come, as the land was enwrapped in a massive blinding blizzard.

I started this card by cutting the Christmas Tree out using the Winter Frolic cartridge. I embossed the pieces with my Cuttlebug before gluing them together. The background I embossed with a snowflake folder and adhered to a kraft base. I cut the tag out using the Winter Frolic cartridge and stamped the sentiment with the My Pink Stamper “Christmas Wishes” set. This earned me +291 punny exp points. Some red thread and a button finished off the front of this card.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment and image using the Echo Park “Holly Jolly Christmas” set.

After having travelled the great distance to reach the mountain, it seemed a shame to leave without at least obtaining a few of the magical branches, so we donned our heavy winter gear we had brought with us, drank some stamina potions, and set out.

Scruffy's Plight

Today we were visited by an elf named Scruffy who had fled from King Ruston’s court. He came to the Crafters Guild seeking asylum, as the King’s men were now hunting the little guy down for escaping. I asked Scruffy why he had fled the court and he explained he was tired of being laughed at for the royal courtiers' amusement. He wanted to do something with more meaning. When he heard about a clan of elves living in the north who constructed toys for the Winter Festival, he thought he could join them and do something constructive...literally.

I started this card by stamping “Scruffy” by Make it Crafty and colouring him with Prismacolors. I added some glossy accents to the bells on his hat (which you can see a lot better if you click the picture and make it big) and set that aside to dry. I dug aaaaaaaaall the way to the bottom of my paper stash to find that super glittery paper that I bought on sale three years ago, and used it for the background. I stamped the banner using the Lawn Fawn “Bannerific” set and then stamped the sentiment inside using the My Pink Stamper “Christmas Wishes” set. I cut the ornament out using the Winter Frolic cartridge and embossed it with some snowflakes using my Cuttlebug.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using a cheap Recollections brand set. The baubles I stamped using the Dylusions “Christmas Borders” set and coloured them in using Distress Markers. 

I stamped some more baubles on the envelope to match the outside of the card, earning me +382 coordination exp points.

I told Scruffy the Lady Commander of Copics and I would help smuggle him to the northern region, where the toy making elves resided, as I sympathized with his plight. King Ruston’s court was known to be a cruel one, and I wasn’t going to send the poor guy back. We donned our winter furs, packed the sleds, attached them to the direwolves, and set out over the snowy tundra to set poor Scruffy free.

Early Morning Pentagrams

This morning I awoke to frantic pounding on the Guild Hall door. Donning my fur robes and wiping sleep from my tired eyes, I padded down the stone stairs to see what all the commotion was about. I swung open the door and standing there was a clearly distressed woman. “Please, you must help me!” she cried. “Someone has stolen my baby!” I took her to the kitchen and Olga the house gnome fixed the poor woman a cup of tea whilst I roused the Lady Commander of Copics and we got dressed for the unexpected early morning quest.

This Christmas card was a fairly simple one. I cut the image using the Winter Frolic cartridge and glued it all together. I added some yellow glitter to the star to make it look more...well...like a shiny star. This earned me +50 glimmer exp points. I cut the oval shape out and stamped the sentiment using the My Pink Stamper “Christmas Wishes” set. Some pieces of brown cord finished off the front of this creation.

On the inside I stamped some more words from the “Christmas Wishes” set - nothing too fancy.

After casting some locating spells, we managed to find the baby in an old barn on a piece of abandoned property. Surrounding the trough the child was laying in were black markings and pentagrams. Obviously the work of some demon or witch trying to perform a dark ritual. This was all much too heavy for me first thing in the morning, before I've even had a cup of coffee. We rescued the child and searched for the guilty party, but could find no trace of the being. We will have to remain vigilant to ensure no more children are taken from the village.

Chilly Willy Comes to Play

Greetings. Welcome to the Guild Hall. The unseasonably warm temperatures have abated and a winter storm is once again raging outside the Guild Hall walls. It is fortunate I had the generator for the stables repaired before the weather turned. I bundled up in my furs and ventured outdoors to perform the mundane task of shoveling a path from the lane to the Guild Hall doors. I was almost done when I noticed a large bird waddling up to the Guild Hall. He was black and white and wearing a little red bow. Curious, I set aside my shovel and slowly approached the creature. He cocked his head, an unspoken question on his face. I was about to tell him I didn’t understand when suddenly the Lady Commander of Copics burst forth from the Guild Hall and flew past me. “Yaaaaaaaa! Chilly Willy’s here to play! Let’s go!” she exclaimed grabbing the bird by his flipper and pulling him towards to large snow drifts. I should have known...

I started this card by cutting the penguin from the Simply Charmed cartridge. I gave him some bling for his bow and added a rhinestone. The sentiment I cut from the Winter Frolic cartridge and embossed it with my Cuttlebug, earning me +130 texture exp points. I added some silver ribbon on the side to finish the front off, adhering everything onto the snowflake paper.

On the inside I stamped the little penguin by Imaginisce and quickly coloured him. The sentiment came from the Lawn Fawn “Cozy Christmas” set.

The Lady Commander and Chilly Willy played outside in the snow for a couple hours before coming inside for some hot chocolatey beverages. I think she’s invited him for supper too. I supposed I’ll have the house gnomes prepare some...raw fish for him *blech*.
