Today
we had a visitor to the Guild Hall who called himself The Cajun. The
Lady Commander of Copics and I invited him to stay for supper, as Olga
was cooking her famous chocobo stew. As I was showing him around the
grounds we came across Huxter, one of the house gnomes, who was breaking
apart some boulders that were littering the animals grazing area.
“Would you like ‘ta see a trick, ‘mon chere?” The Cajun asked holding up a playing card.
I
called to Huxter to move out of the field and nodded to The Cajun. He
smiled and the playing card in his hand started to glow! He tossed it
with precision at the boulder Huxter had been breaking apart and it
exploded into tiny shards of rock.
"After all dis time--an I still manage to impress myself,” he said fingering a deck of cards.
As
I don’t have any “playing card” related stamps to fit the challenge
theme at Wicked Wednesday, I decided to chop up an old playing card
instead. I used a Jack and a King, adhered them together on a red
background, earning myself +48 character welding exp points. I then
stamped the sentiment from the Unity “Loads of Love” set, thinking it a
clever irony considering the “suicide king” is the “heart” I used, and he is decidedly not happy...I mean...he's sticking a sword through his head. I
used the Dylusions “Further Around the Edge” set to stamp a border on
the white base.
I then dug deep into my stash and found those
sparkly....errr....things
to use as embellishments. I remember buying them from Michaels a while
ago when they were on the clearance rack, but what I intended to use
them for, I have no idea. They are veeeeeeeery puffy and have adhesive
that you peel the backs off to reveal. Of course it didn’t work very
well, so I got out my Hot Glue Gun of +82 scorching to help the poor
things out.
This ATC will be well suited for the following challenges:
Desert Island Crafters Challenge #52 (used #1: no flowers #2: use black or red #3: no markers #6: use glitter #7: bling it up)
I
asked The Cajun where he had learned such magiks, but he simply
chuckled to himself and said it was just a talent he was born with.
After a delicious meal of chocobo stew, he showed us a few more card
tricks, then took his leave. I am x-cited to meet more of his comrades, who he assures me know equally impressive magik.
