Decorations Poppy-ing Up Everywhere

Continued from “Tale of the Halfing in Distress”...

The Lady Commander of Copics and I finally reached Fennel Forest with the little hafling, Megs, we had just rescued. Upon entering the forest, Megs got her bearings and lead the way to her clan’s village. She insisted we come and meet everyone so we could be properly thanked for rescuing her. When we entered the village I was taken aback by the amount
of Christmas decorations that were hanging everywhere. A cute little halfling skipped towards us, the pom-pom on her toque bouncing.
“Meeeeeeegs!” she squealed, hugging the pink-haired girl beside me. “We thought you were lost forever! Thank you so much for bringing her home,” she said, turning to look at me and my sister.

I started this ATC by stamping “Poppy” from There She Goes Clear Stamps onto watercolour paper and colouring her with Distress Markers. Since we’ve received a GINORMOUS amount of snow the last few days, my mind has been unable to stray from holiday thoughts, and before I knew what was happening, I had coloured Poppy in Christmas colours. Well...guess I’d best run with it now. I stamped the hat from the Dylusions “Christmas Accessories” set, colouring it in and cutting it out. I know, I know...I just used that same hat on my previous ATC, but it fit her head perfectly...almost like her head was made for that fuzzy toque. Sooo...take note...anyone who has these two sets, this hat = perfect fit for Poppy’s head. Moving on…
To make this even more Christmasy, I stamped the little branch from the “Christmas Accessories” set. Deciding it looked a little lonely and needed some decorating, I stamped a couple of ornaments from the Dylusions “Christmas Borders” set and cut them out, adding some Glossy Accents for +80 glossy exp points. This is another ATC that I think I’ll be popping onto a card. She’s just too cute not to spread holiday greetings.

This ATC will bring some Christmas cheer to the following challenges:

The girl introduced herself as Poppy, “Head of the Decorating Committee” which explained the various ribbons hanging around her neck and baubles she was carrying. Poppy gave us a tour of the small village, proudly pointing out all the Winter Festival decorations she had hung or erected herself. The villagers made sure we were well stocked with various herbs as thanks for bringing back Megs.
“Please come back and visit,” Poppy shouted, waving goodbye as we began our ride back to the Guild Hall.

This is simply adorable. This is a cutie of an image, and you've colored her so festively...she just sparkles. I liked reading how you had combined so many different elements to create the scene, and your Glossy Accents really made the bottom ornament glisten. TFS & visiting & leaving such a kind comment. Come again soon when you have time. Hugs

And when you do make the Christmas card for this absolutely gorgeous ATC may I be so bold as to suggest you include the adventures you encountered on your way to meet Poppy. Your artistic talents are awesome and are totally matched by your literary talents. I wish I had the skills to convey just how much pleasure I receive from each visit to your pages here. Good luck in our challenge this week. Ingrid xx ( OSAAT Team )
