Today
Olga, one of our house gnomes, approached me wondering what flavour of
cake I wanted for my upcoming name day. I assured her that a cake was
quite unnecessary, as my lord husband and I were not having a name day
celebration for me this year. “But my lady must have a cake!” she
squeaked. “It’s tradition!” She walked away muttering to herself about the importance of upholding
traditions and cursing my “stubborn nature” under her breath. I had a
feeling there would be a cake for me come Sunday, despite my protests.
Suddenly inspired by all the dessert talk, I went to the crafting
chambers to create, snagging a brownie on the way.
I
started this card by colouring The Greeting Farm’s Birthday Anya,
wielding the Lady Commander’s Copic markers. This earned me +148 Copic
colouring exp, allowing me to level up. My sister will be so proud. I
then cast a bravery spell which allowed me to cut up my Bo Bunny “Sweet
Treats” paper *gaaaaaaaaasp*. I know...I didn’t think I’d ever cut it
either. I do believe that my lady mother bestowed that paper upon me on
my last
name day! I stamped some hearts using Lawn Fawn’s “My Silly Valentine”
onto pink cardstock, cut them out, glued them on, and covered ‘em in
Glossy Accents. This made them look more candy-like. The sentiment I
stamped using the My Pink Stamper “Family & Friends” set. Lastly, I
broke open the roll of brown and pink ribbon that I’ve also had for
quite some time, and used it to finish off the front of the card. Brown
and pink are my favourite colours together. In fact, I have a brown and
pink Paul Frank hoodie that I’ve had for eight years and the sleeves
have holes in them, but I can’t fathom getting rid of it because I love
the brown and pink so much! But I digress...
On
the inside I used the Dylusions “Bordering on the Edge” set and stamped
the whooshy things. I stamped the sentiment using My Pink Stamper’s
“Birthday Crazy” set.
I subtly stamped the same whooshy swirliness on the envelope in light pink.

After
spending so much time in the crafting chambers surrounded by images of
cake, I immediately changed my mind and flew down the stairs and headed
straight to the kitchens to find Olga. As soon as I burst through the
door she smiled knowingly at me, “I knew you would come ‘round,” she
said, her face splitting into a huge grin. What can I say...I like cake.
