Today
as I was riding back from the village after attending numerous Festival
of Love parties, I came across a stray traveller on the road. The poor
soul was travelling by herself, trying to lug various trunks and cases
with no horse or carriage. I reined up beside her and offered my
assistance. She assured me she was capable of handling her cumbersome
luggage with a spell if I could spare an elixir as she had run out of
mana. It so happened I had an extra elixir potion in my satchel and
graciously offered it to the lady. She downed the drink and mumbled a
few words, casting her spell. I watched in amazement as her trunks and cases
suddenly became her torso! She had turned herself into a walking luggage
cart!
As soon as I saw the inspiration picture on the Runway Inspired Challenge I knew EXACTLY what stamp I wanted to use! I
started by stamping the image using the Dylusions “Traveling
Travis” set. I then added colouring using a combination of Distress
Markers and paper piecing. This earned me +341 dual technique exp
points. I set that aside and worked on the background. I used the Lawn
Fawn “You’ve Got Mail” set to stamp postmarks and the postcard, colouring it
with Distress Ink. I stamped the sentiment on the postcard using the My
Pink Stamper “Birthday Crazy” set. Before adding my person on, I
embossed the edge with a border embossing folder and my Cuttlebug.
I
used the same postcard and postmark stamps on the inside and added a
sentiment using the My Creative Time “Wow! So Many Candles” set.
I decorated the envelope with more of the postmark stamps to match the ones on the front of the card.
Before he travels away, this card will make stops in the following challenges:
Spark Your Creativity Now! Challenge #6: Anything Goes
Shopping Our Stash Challenge #89: They Say It’s Your Birthday
Incy Wincy Designs Challenge: Add Texture
Runway Inspired Challenge #29
The
traveller, turned walking stack of trunks, bowed her head, “Thank you
for the elixir. This will make my journey much easier.” She then waddled
away like a penguin, unable to walk normally with her luggage torso. Surprisingly, this wasn’t the strangest
thing I’ve seen all day. Never a dull day in the realm.

Ooooo...Love the suitcase lady! I really like how you used the postcard and postmarks outside, inside and even on the envelope! Thanks for joining the birthday challenge at SOS this week!
Oh my! You blew me away Crystal! That Travis stamp is a perfect fit for this week's inspiration photo! I would never thought of matching Lawn Fawn with Dylusions but it totally works! And the bit of dry embossing on the card front? Soooo cool! So glad that you joined us in the Runway Inspired Challenge! Happy stamping!
