Mush Love

It is a well known fact around the Guild Hall that my sister, the Lady Commander of Copics, and I have a love affair with mushrooms. Not only are they a tasty treat, but they are super cute as well. Due to our draw to all things mushroomy we are both helpless when it comes to resisting mushroom themed crafting supplies. I had a recent such breakdown while I was shopping at Sameth’s Stamp Shack in the market square. The rubber manipulator watched with amusement as I picked up, put back, picked up, put back, picked up, put back, picked up, put back, picked up... a new mushroom set he had recently created in his laboratory. “Just get it!” Angela exclaimed. “It’s not like they go bad,” she added - which is always our justification for buying any crafting supply that we don’t really need. I raised my eyes to Sameth, who had started to chuckle softly. “I think he makes cute ones on purpose because he knows we are weak against the kawaii,” I whispered to the Lady Commander.

I started this card by colouring the background red using Distress Inks. I attempted to use the Dylusions “Luscious Leaves” stencil and some Perfect Pearls mist on the background, but you can’t really tell. Meh. I then used the Dylusions “Further Around the Edge” set to stamp the top of the paper. The mushroom and sentiment I stamped with my new Unity set, then coloured the mushrooms using Distress Markers and my Hydra Brush. I added some hearts and the “xoxo” using a couple Lawn Fawn sets.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn “My Silly Valentine” set and added that MEGA KAWAII mushroom with a face from the Lawn Fawn “Gnome Sweet Gnome” set.

I stamped the same image from the “Further Around the Edge” set on the envelope to make it all matchy-match. I also like that it’s not an overtly valentinesy image, hopefully causing whomever receives this to pause a moment before opening it - mwaa haaa haaa. This earned me +142 deception exp points.

I ended up giving Sameth all the silver coins in my purse in exchange for some crafty accessories to adorn the crafting chambers. I loaded my purchases into Ruffles’ saddlebags and galloped off towards the Guild Hall, already feeling guilty about my purchases. Such is life.
