Procrastination is an Art

In all my busy preparations for the Festival of Love, creating cards for various townspeople, buying treats infused with cocoa and sugar to bring to the village party, I almost forgot to craft a card for my lord husband! That misstep would have surely spelled disaster, but luckily I caught my blunder in time. I rushed to my crafting chambers, gathered my supplies and set straight to work.

This card I started by stamping the image from the Unity “Stick With Me” set then stamped The Greeting Farm’s “Miss Anya Lounge” inside it. I coloured them all up with Prismacolors and cut it out. I grabbed some different shades of pink paper from my scrap bin and stamped some hearts using the Unity “Loads of Love” set, outlining them with a white pen. Lastly I added some pink bakers twine that I’ve had in my stash for the last two years and some clear buttons that are just as old. It seems like whenever I buy a mixed bag of buttons, ¾ are either black or clear and the rest are actually different colours, so I’m always super happy when I get to use up any black or clear buttons from my stash.

On the inside I stamped the sentiment using the Lawn Fawn “Say Cheese” set and added some more hearts from the “Loads of Love Set.” Instead of throwing away the scraps from trimming the pink panels to size, I glued them on the inside.

On the envelope I stamped more of the hearts to make it match the card. I honestly don’t know why I bother decorating envelopes for cards that are for my husband...oh yes...the ocd and needing things to match...that's why.

This labour of love will be entered into the following challenges:
TGF Farm Fresh Friday Challenge: Buttons and Baker’s Twine
Card Crafter’s Circle Challenge #61: Love is in the Air/Valentines
Speedy Fox and Friends Challenge #146: Love
A Gem of a Challenge #66: Hearts/Valentines

My Craft Spot Challenge #86: For Your Sweetheart
Divas By Design: Love and Romance
Use it Tuesday Challenge #49: Fasteners
TGF Retro Fresh Challenge: Hearts Galore
Unity Friends With Flair (later on this week)

With the Festival of Love being tomorrow, I was cutting it close, but I managed to complete the card on time. Now to organize all the treats and cards that I shall be bringing to the smallfolk that work at the horse wagon repair shop in the village tomorrow (something I also left till the last minute). I have a feeling it’s going to be a late night. Stupid procrastination.
