Zee Feztival of Love

The village is abuzz with preparations well underway for the Festival of Love this coming Thursday. I went to the market square to drop off some more handcrafted cards to Hilda Hawker’s General Store as she was selling out of the last batch of Festival of Love cards I made her rather quickly. I decided to stroll through the square and look at the decorations that had already been hung. On one of the street corners I noticed a strange man I’d never seen before. He was seated upon an old rusty chair, clutching what appeared to be a broken umbrella. His face was white, like that of a mime, however I could hear him muttering to himself. I approached the strange fellow to try and make out what he was saying. “Get zees decorationz away from me. Heartz and flowerz. Yeech.” He had a strange accent and continued mumbling in a foreign tongue, seemingly upset with all of the Festival of Love decorations that were being put up.

So I decided to try my hand at another ATC. I don’t know if I’m doing these right, but what the heck. They don’t take very long to make, and I don’t feel as much pressure as when I’m making a card for some reason. I started by stamping the Stampotique “Relaxin’” image. I then used Victorian Velvet Distress Ink and coloured in all around the dude. I grabbed the Fired Brick ink and used it on the edges to give the colour some gradient. I stamped some tiny hearts and was attempting to make it look like they were bouncing off the umbrella, but I’m not really happy with how that aspect turned out. I then stamped the swirly things using the Inkadinkado "Decorative Corners" set and added the word “love” using a Close to My Heart set. Lastly I adhered the little white button with some red thread to the corner. I earned myself +194 ATC exp points, which brings me really close to leveling up!

This heart filled creation would love to be entered in the following challenges:
Wicked Wednesday Challenge #70: Valentine/Love
4 Crafty Chicks Challenge #128: Pink & Red
Simon Says Stamp Challenge: Have a Heart
Love to Create Challenge #52: Feelin’ the Love
ATC’s & Cards With Attitude Challenge #33: Be My Valentine
Stampotique Designer’s Challenge #86: Red, Pink and White

“Love iz for za weak minded. You are all foolz! FOOLZ!” He was getting louder and had begun shaking and swinging his umbrella at passersby. It was time to remove him from the market square, as he would clearly be a damper on the upcoming celebrations.

OMG - this is just totally awesome. Yeah, you are definitely doing it right! Those hearts DO look like they are bouncing off the balloon, so fun! That image is one of the few Stampotique stamps that I own, and I love it! Your description of him sounds just perfect. Love it. Thanks so much for joining us at Wicked Wednesday. :)
